This is freaking sweet! 2 games for the Shady Devils, and 2 losses! This A league shit is a piece of cake!! LOL, well, we knew we were crawling into a meat grinder, and I'm sure we'll find our way one way or another. Anyhow, I did predictions in the BBB leagues last season, and they went over pretty well, so I figured I'd give them a shot here too. Take this into consideration though; these are not comming off a spreadsheet or anything that is very detailed. I take a look at your records, and some pretty remedial stats and post some basic observations. Right now I don't know most of your teams or their talent, so as time goes on and trends develop, I'll be able to give a little more accurate take. Essentially it is just posted for entertainment value.
Queensland Exiles vs. Alberta Gangsters
The Exiles are off and running this season with a 2-0 record. They have posted 246 points behind the leagues most potent offense. Their pass D has been ho hum to this point, but their run stoppers have allowed yardage only into the negative column. Alberta on the other side is sitting at 1-1, after beating a Niagra squad from the east and then succumbing to a good Calgary team in a well played contest. The Gangsters haven't been able to get a good footing on offense yet, but their defense has been pretty good. I think that Queensland is a bit too much for them offensively, and the Gangsters will be hard pressed to be anything more then one dimensional on offense, so I'll take Queensland here.
Calgary Jaguars vs. Toronto Peace
The 2-0 Peace, look to build on a strong start to the season. In their way is the 1-1 Jaguars, who are comming off a nice win over a good Alberta squad. Calgary is yet to establish a solid run game this year, and their pass offense has been middle of the pack. Toronto, is geared as a run team and their defense looks to be a little stronger. I'll take Toronto here in a pretty good game.
Kodiak Bears vs. Great Bear Lake Shamans
Two 1-1 teams will take the field here this week, but only one will continue to be in good shape following the outcome. In the passing game Great Bear has the edge statistically right now, but the Kodiak team maintains the same in the ground game. This should be a good game, but I expect Kodiak to edge them in a game that is probably decided by 3 to 6 points.
Vancouver Jaguars vs. South Manitoba Shady Devils
Well, my squad draws the CPU team this week. Normally I'd like to have this game late on my schedule, but right now I'll take a win no matter how I get it. Devils win this one.
Heartbreak Ridge Recons vs. Ontario Coyotes
The Coyotes took home a nice first week win only to be disappointed in week two by the 2-0 Barrel Riders. Heartbreak Ridge with their high percentage of CPU players looks to be in for a tough season. I'll take the Coyotes to win this one with ease.
Niagra Falls Barrel Riders vs. Prince Edward Island Royalty
This here is probably the game of the week. It pits two promoted teams against each other, and both are off to very good starts here in the A leagues. The Royalty eeked out a week one win against a talented Maple Ridge squad, and then followed it up by walloping a lackluster Victoria team. Niagra Falls has played solid and beat two middle of the road teams. Both teams employ top rated passing offenses, with the Royalty holding the edge in rushing as of right now. Right now Prince Edward Island is the vastly superior defence statistically, but with such a short schedule to rely upon, this doesn't say a whole lot in this game. I expect a good game here, and it could go either way, but I'll take the Royalty.
Doom Mountain Demons vs. Victorias Secret
The Demon's got beat in a close week one game, but followed it up with an impressive week two victory over another promoted team in the Quebec Eh's. There is no secret in Victoria this year. They are oodles of levels behind everyone, and the boys on Doom Mountain are licking their chops this week. Demons by a landslide.
Moose Factory Mounties vs. Quebec Eh's
After winning their league last year the Eh's have been received about just as well as my squad this year. Things will be tough for them this week again as they draw the talented Mounties. Moose Factory has a good vertical game, but a dominant ground game, not to mention a down right sick defense. This looks to be an easy win for them this week.
