Zeta Power Rankings

1. (1) Amsterdam Pirates (31-0 Win vs. Copenhagen Hounds)

2-0 (1-0 vs. Top 5 teams in Zeta)

A dominating performance tonight has secured this team of the top spot for at least another week. What I had as the game of week turned out to be anything but. They completely destroyed a pretty decent to good team 31-0 and held them to 0 points and only 102 yards!! Nothing sticks out on the stat sheet by the defense but it was stifling. They have an easy match up in there next game against the Warriors and this one will be nothing more than a practice for this early season Top Dog.
Next game vs. #10 Washington Warriors

2. (2) West Yorkshire Bandits (87-7 Win vs. Glasgow Cats)

2-0 (0-0 vs. Top 5)

A dominating performance vs. an under performing team in the Glasgow Cats tonight keeps the Bandits in the #2 slot. They put up over 660 yards while limiting the Cats to 151. They seem to have everything clicking right now which is good as they prepare for an early season battle with the Drunken Irish. The QB’s are clicking so as long as they don’t start talking to the media about having to share the snaps they may be able to thrive in the pass heavy attack.
Next game vs. #4 Ireland Drunken Irish

3. (3) Stafford Spartans (48-0 Win vs. Artic Demon Santas)

2-0 (0-0 vs. Top 5)

48 points is nice but the real story is how well the defense played. They held the Demon Santas to Negative 18 yards on the ground and while they gave up 158 in the air it was on 52 attempts. A good performance by the Spartans but it was expected and thus they won’t move up any higher just yet. It was a one-sided game but the score was lower than I had expected. They did put up 464 yards of offense but nothing eye-popping on that side of the ball. They have another good match up this week as they look to improve on tonight’s performance against the Arlington Sandlot.
Next game vs. #9 Arlington Sandlot

4. (4) Ireland Drunken Irish (84-7 Win vs. Kickback Cavaliers)

1-1 (0-0 vs. Top 5)

After losing their first match up the Drunks sobered up in time for an ass kicking over the Cavaliers. This one was over as soon as the Irish got off the plane. They ran for 590 yards in this one while pushing the Cavaliers for Negative 36 yards on the ground. They decided to be nice in the second half and took the foot off the gas by only scoring 21. But the damage was done early by posting 56 before the break. Their top RB Smashface Wester shook off the bad first game (40 yards) and put up 401 in this one. The Drunken Irish will need more of the same as they play in the game of the week vs. #2 Bandits. I know they want to get drunk but they’ll have to stop early as they’ll need everyone at 100% to pull off the upset.
Next game vs. #2 West Yorkshire Bandits

5. Chicagoo Bears (66-0 Win vs. Trondheim Berserkir)

2-0 (0-0 vs. Top 5)

An unbelievable start to the season for the Bears as they are yet to allow a single point!! They have impressed right away and while they would probably prefer to go unnoticed for a while longer it just won’t happen with these types of performances. Teams are going to begin scouting and preparing for the Chicagoo Bears and they will need to as the Bears allowed an astonishing 8 yards of total offense to the Berserkirs. Before I talk them into getting a mid-season promotion they haven’t played a good team yet but the results are impressive as anyone can see. They are running it down teams throats at they have topped 300 yards rushing in each game. Another easy match up for the Bears this week as they attempt to post 3 straight shutouts to start the season.
Next game vs. #12 Artic Demon Santas

6. EuroTrash Talkers (68-7 Win vs. Washington Warriors)

1-1 (0-0 vs. Top 5)

After a poor performance to start the season the Trash Talkers came out guns blazing in their 2nd with a 61-point victory over the Warriors. They topped 600 yards while holding the Warriors to 117. This team was close to the playoffs last year and are hoping to be in there this season. It’s a real nice win especially after a loss but more info is needed before we can put them higher or think about them making any noise in Season 7.
Next game vs. #15 Trondheim Berserkir

7. (5) Copenhagen Hounds (0-31 Loss vs. Amsterdam Pirates)

1-1 (0-1 vs. Top 5)

There isn’t a team that I could possibly rank above them remaining or I would have done so. I didn’t think the Hounds would win but I thought they would at least show up against the Pirates tonight. Getting shutout and only gaining 102 yards is something a good team just can’t do. There was no glaring stat like a ton of sacks or turnovers in this one. The one thing that caught my attention was their RB’s were tackled for loss 9 times. It’s hard to tell from this one if either the Pirates are much better than everyone thinks or if the Hounds are just not a good team. They’ll get to rebound this week however and should get a nice win.
Next game vs. #13 Glasgow Cats

8. Aalborg Snaps (27-16 Win vs. Arlington Sandlot)

1-1 (0-0 vs. Top 5)

Despite being out gained by the Sandlot the Snaps were able to put up 14 points in the 4th quarter and pull off a nice come from behind win for their first W of the season. This is a new squad that is looking to make a name for itself but it would appear they are at least a season away. They have a couple of good match ups before they hit a real hard part of their schedule in which I see 2 winnable games out of 9. They are certainly going to have to get it figured out in a hurry if they want to make any of those games close ones.
Next game vs. #14 PaPa Dong’s Dragon Farm

9. Arlington Sandlot (16-27 Loss vs. Aalborg Snaps)

0-2 (0-0 vs. Top 5)

The Sandlot cannot be happy with tonight’s game as they did everything but win vs. the Snaps. To make matters worse they are going to be HUGE underdogs in their next 4 games. They have some decent players in place but are just way out leveled at bunch of spots to compete with the big dogs in this league. Perhaps in another season they will be ready but doesn’t look like it’s going to be now.
Next game vs. #3 Stafford Spartans

10. Washington Warriors (7-68 Loss vs. EuroTrash Talkers)

0-2 (0-0 vs. Top 5)

This may be a bit high for the Warriors as they were just beaten by 61 points but it will all work itself out over the next few weeks. They did win a pre-season game 91-0 and only lost their season opener by 3 points so maybe not to bad of a spot for them. They will almost certainly be lowered after their next two games in which they will get more then they can handle vs. the #1 team and a Hounds team that should be hungry. But with so many equal teams towards the bottom you never know which one could jump up and grab that number 8 spot for the playoffs. WuShU The Great is going to have to coach up the team and keep the spirits high after the brutal opening schedule they have to deal with.
Next game vs. #1 Amsterdam Pirates

11. Wolverhampton Wolverines

12. Artic Demon Santas

13. Glasgow Cats

14. PaPa Dong’s Dragon Farm

15. Trondheim Berserkir

16. Kickback Cavaliers

Win a game please. I know you guys are building it up together but 16 straight losses have to be getting old.

I’ll go with a post on the last 6 teams after our next game.

Zeta Game of the Week-
#2 West Yorkshire Bandits vs. #4 Ireland Drunken Irish

This year we may/will have teams in and out of the top 5. The record vs. Top 5 teams will reflect your record vs. teams that were in the top 5 when you played them.

Only future will tell
Nice writeup, i read every single bit, thanks so much.
It's awesome to see the effort you put into it.

I look forward to the Bandits vs the Drunken Irish, that could be a close game.

Ah, good old badass writing up our power rankings.
You're the best, man. Season 6 and above. ^^

I just hope everyone doesn't think we're unbeatable like the silicans last year. That was a scary team.

I don't follow Zeta that closely but I believe Amsterdam and Stafford will play in their own league.

No your very beatable, not doging your team, but looks like you have quite a few early boosters and you never know after the Cap raise what teams will do. Should be a tough divisionand I see no one running away with it.

Mhmm, it's a tough conference, but nothing like last season. Centurions, loldots, brew crew got promoted,.monaco folded (). And the only "contending" team that came are the Spartans.

It's understandable we'll be getting the most criticism this season, as we have huge shoes (centurions) to fill if we want to run away with the conference title.
It's going to be fun this season.

Well we already beat the Spartans(Preseason and I know the excuse already no need to post it) but lost a BS game to the hounds. I think their might be quite a few upsets and close games this year. Good stuff!

Last year this conference had to be one of the best in GLB as far as brand new low capped teams go. There were so many good teams but of course the one that stood head and shoulders above everyone else were great. This year I think there may be some sleepers out there that have a shot but overall there are more teams without a legitimate shot to make much noise.

Which are the other new teams in the league can I just ask?

Great post. It was a lot more competitive last season. I enjoy trying to fight for a playoff spot and gameplanning for tough games. Now I just feel that playoffs are just a gaurantee for a lot of the teams.

Ofcourse we are beatable, with the right tactic, every team is beatable.
But it's clear that boosting early in our league has a HUGE advantage.
We might lose a couple of XP points, but gaining veteran points where players on teams like yours are still waiting on being able to gain veteran points.
I see that as a bigger advantage then the disadvantage of losing a little XP.

And on top of that, majority of our squad actually hasn't boosted.

What do you mean how? Luckily the Hounds got away with one as I was drunk and forgot to click the little Box on the new D AI to enable it. We are a very stout team and we will be seeing you down the road.

Let's hope so
Shamefully the dax atlantique storms have rejected our scrimmage invite.
Not sure why, i'd love to play the #1 Alpha team.
