If you can't afford a high level player, then that is your own problem. EQ helps the team as much as the player. If you had confidence in your abilities as an owner, you wouldn't worry about whether or not he'd resign. Shame on you for forcing a player to be held hostage for equipment money, which, if you can afford, you should be paying anyway, or if you can't, you shouldn't be recruiting a player like this.
