We have to see at the end of the season what tier teams played what. If the top 8 teams in the West played and beat the bottom 8 in the East, well then we can't really tell who's better.

I really think the game should be last game of the season and 1st plays 1st, 2nd plays 2nd, etc

Yea I wouldn't say that's a very good barometer of the teams in the east. Personally I wished they would have put both YellowKnife teams playing each other so we could settle who's better at the beginning rather than hear about it throughout the season.

certainly it depends on what ranked teams played each other today, but certainly the top 8 played their match up or down one or two rankings, no? But I agree the season is still early and there is plenty of game to play. At first glance, the east looks a little heavier leveled than the west, but quite possibly the west may be more competitive within their conf. We shall see soon enough!
Good game Quebec, that scared the bejesus out of me to play you in a scrim and then turn around and have you be the first reg season game.

...then 3 of the bottom 8 of the West beat 3 of the top 8 in the east.... and the west still dominates.
