He only had 12 sacks last season, and that was more sacks than I've given up combined in the last 2 seasons.

My build:
67 + 16 + 3 strength
68 + 10 + 10 blocking
63 agility
41 speed
45 vision
35 confidence
2-3-4-2-2
3-5-2-3-7

Ended at 59 energy after playing every single snap.
I played on +run block settings.

Making me wonder about my choice of VP/equip on strength, but I've always wanted to focus on the running game - rarely ever got beat in passing but this performance arguably cost us a game (lost in OT).

In either case, I'm pretty baffled that I'd get beat up that badly. Any suggestions?

+run hurts alot more then you'd think, also playing ROT you need more SPD/AGI then the LOT does since he gets Protector. I'd get your AGI to 68, speed to atleast 48 and if you're playing against anyone who generates pressure go balanced if you don't want to be pass focused.

might have to reset your Vet pts and put 10 in agility to get that up to 69-70

The 4th sack I'd consider more as a coverage sack

I think the LOT actually needs more AGL/SPD, but it looks like this team is doing what a lot of teams are starting to do on this game and already do in real life. Their putting their fastest most agile DE on the ROT instead of LOT. Because most people don't build the ROT with as much SPD/AGL. Get the AGL closer to 70 and the SPD closer to 50. Using the vet pts is probably a good idea.

Don't use run block focus. I tried it in a scrimmage and the good results I got run blocking definitely didn't make up for the terrible results I got pass blocking. It depends on your team, but I'd switch to balanced or pass focus. Like was said above, run focus hurts a lot more than you would think.

I'm another one who advocates Pass Block focus.

Also it might be time to spend VAs in Agility and also spend points in it through the 3:1 range. If you get it up to 68 natural, then any % bonus will be OK. Also now might be the time to take speed to 48, although I don't know how much it helps compared to agility.

The other thing would be to buy a second piece of custom equip with +6 Agi to equip in the games where you face a DE with a lot of sacks. If the team has cash you can even get one more agility piece, and equip what is necessary depending on the opponent.

Anyway, that's the direction I'm taking my G this season. I'll let you know how Agi in the 70s (but low speed) fares against the hyper-agile D-linesmen.

One final thing - I've suggested before that you should test your pancake SA when it is high before looking for new equipment. My new thought on it is that the code for offensive pancakes is worthless, and it is better to put the points / equipment elsewhere. Maybe it is time to shop for a +Pass Block SA piece now and give up on the pancake equipment piece? (assuming Bort doesn't change the code again to make offensive pancakes happen with the same frequency as defensive ones).

I have a +1 vision +1 first step piece I'm probably going to start using.

I'm likely going to shade my equip off str and toward blocking, and then use VP split on blk/agi. I'm taking agi to 68, then spd/vis to 48.

Then play on no focus.

If THAT gets beat, well then shit

get an agility eq set, get

75+ agil
48+ speed
48+ vision

You also need a backup. Ending at 59 energy is really bad IMO.

Alright, I made adjustments on equip and VP and filling a few training bars, here is my build now, rounded

67 + 8 = 75 str
68 + 15 + 10% = 90 blk
63 + 9% = 69 agi
42 spd
45 + 1 = 46 vis
42 conf
36 sta

2-3-4-2-2
3-5-2-3-5

2 first step SA

Playing on balanced, and still getting every snap.

Ended the last game at 69 energy even without a backup.

My thoughts are..
Going to train spd + sta this season, and dump points into agility
Next season, i'll cap vis/spd, and train vis+conf

I think I'd get more value from capping vis now, training vis + conf this season, and capping spd as the season moves on. Then with my boosts next season I can cap agility, and keep train vis + conf.

Might get better immediate results (better training, and speed increases 3x as fast as agility at this point 1:1 vs 3:1) without really sacrificing more than a fraction of a SP on agility by getting to the cap later or something.

My agility bar is full too which is fun for when I finally get to 68

bort hella nerfed Agi/Spd DE so the build that was once the perfect for stopping DE is now getting owned by str de

How so? Do you need more STR now?

Some people think "reverse pancaking" will be a problem for OTs that went the agility+blocking route, but there are so few DEs with high strength that I doubt reverse pancaking will make a huge difference for OTs.

As long as you aren't an OT who 100% neglected str and have it at 30 (or 48, even) you'll be fine on reverse pancaking IMO. The standard blk/agi OT should still have gone to 60, and if its a problem a piece or two of equip on str should do the trick against a power DE
