Elephant is wide open. No cpu teams, no slow build teams, no gutted teams. Over 80% of the teams had winning records last season. Something has to give. I predict a season full of close, competitive games, with the playoff race coming down to the wire. The established veterans of the league should be especially wary of the newcomers. Most of the promoted teams are solidly built and have good tactics. Should be an exciting season!
1. Mogadishu Malice All three teams they lost to are now in Pro. #1 by default. Some of the promoted teams will give them a run for their money though.
2. Kibwezi Choppaholix Chops are the most dangerous promoted team. Only 1 loss in all of last season. Boston Dogs will be looking for revenge after their 4 point playoff loss, but the Chops, with almost the whole roster past level 40, should be tough to catch.
3. Richmond Raiders This promoted team made it all the way to their league championship, including a solid win against RMOG. Looks like they have a powerful passing attack.
4. Real Men of Genius Perhaps the best African expansion team from 2 seasons ago, they look to continue to be very competitive in AAA.
5. San Dimas Saints Got revenge on High Plains in the playoffs last season. The fact they lost to Casablanca is a tribute to the parity in the league.
6. Gambia Diamond Cutters Promoted from AA, they should continue to win a lot of games, although they will find a few tough opponents with higher levels.
7. Cairo Cannibals A very solid promoted team. Only in their third season like the AAD, RMOG and the Boston Dogs. They won their original A League. Were a step behind Richmond and RMOG last season, will they be able to make the leap and catch up now?
8. African Arms Dealers Should continue to be a strong team in only their 3rd season.
9. High Plains Drifters Lost to Tunis early last season, but played very well near the end.
10.Tunis Asps Should be a playoff contender again
11. Casablanca Sultans 9 wins got them into the playoffs last season. Should be in position to make a run again this season. Seems like they have made a lot of moves lately, including trading for a solid LB, so this rating may be way too low, depending on how big of an impact the roster changes will make.
12. River Styx Jinx Making the playoffs will not be as easy this season
13. Kilimanjaro Sno-Caps Another team that may surprise. Only 7 wins last season does not bode well for their chances in an improved conference though.
14. Mozambique Thundercats Most likely will not improve on their 8 wins, although if they can pull a few out they may squeak into the playoff hunt.
15. Boston Dogs The lowest leveled team in the league, and they were not slow built. Tactics and scouting are this teams strong points, but that can only get you so far. The Dogs will have their toughest season yet, but at least will make themselves feel better by woofing a lot in the forums.
16. Kinshasa Rumblers Finished 3-13 last season and the league is even tougher now.
