NIZHNY NOVGORORD BULLDOGS vs. BARCELONA CHUPACABRAS
--The Bulldogs came into the playoffs on a winning streak. They easily handled their first game but faced very stiff competition in their final two games to get to the conference championship. They upset a Whiskey River team in the second round, then upset a Rotterdam team that was all but written in to the championship for Europe East 'A' #5 Supremacy.
It has always been written that the Alpha conference is inferior to the Zeta conference. Those from Zeta will point to the trophies that were awarded since the league's inception to prove that. Cross-conference games tell a little bit of a different story though. Alpha and Zeta are pretty even when it comes to cross-conference games, however, the hardware is what is most important and there is no denying that the Zeta conference has won them all.
Barcelona has been on a terror since the first week of the season and did not lose a single game. They had some very close competition from Athens, Boston, and RCR. They beat Athens in overtime, RCR at the end of regulation in the last few minutes of the game, and Boston was only decided by a couple of key turnovers. However, in the playoffs they silenced all of their critics by blowing out every team they faced which included Athens and RCR. Their route to the championship has given this team more bumps and bruises than one can imagine. However, its owner and GM's have never faltered.
The same can be said for the Bulldogs team as well. Both teams have faced adversity and both teams have come out on top.
It all leads down to this game. One single game to determine the champion.
The question is will the Bulldogs be more like the early '90's Bills teams or will they be like last years New York Giants? Will the Chupacabras be more like the '72 Dolphins and go the distance or last year's New England Patriots and have their season end in heartache?
We are less than 24 hours away from the biggest game of the season.
