Well it looks like after four long season we will finally be moving up. I have had a blast in this league. In the 4 seasons I have been here I have been fortunate enough to make some really good friends and meet some of the classiest people I have ever seen in this game. I am truly going to miss playing you guys. I'll still be on the forums though, I have been here to long to not checkem out and comment .
A little History on the Memphis Maulers.
Season 3: We decided to go a different route then alot of teams. We brought in lower level players to grow together. Alot of teams went out and recruited the highest level players possible. Which is no knock on them, just different methods . We took our lumps winning only 2 games that season. But the good thing is we saw improvement in our players every game. Finish 2-6.
Season 4: We didn't really lose anyone from the team maybe 1-2 people. So our core was still strong. We just continue to get better and grow as a team eventually winning 7 games that season which was 5 games better then the season prior.
We had an outside shot at making the playoffs in our second season but lost 2 of our last three to finish 7-9.
Season 5: We went from a 10th place team to making the playoffs. We once again didn't lose any key core players and we continued to grow and get better. We had always been tough when it came to Gameplanning our players were just outleveled by 3-7 at every position most games. We still managed to win 10 Games and make it to the playoffs as the #7 seed. We played #2 Listowel and lost a heartbreaker by 1 point 35-34 Listowel threw the game winning TD with 1:36 remaining in the 4th quater. We finished 10-6.
Season 6: Our hard work had began to payoff. Our Gameplanning was much better, our team which had started at levels 1-4 were now 30+ at almost every position including backups. We had grown as a team, developed as a team and learned as a team the first 3 seasons we played here. We finished the regular season 16-0, and won the Western COnference Championship. We still have the League Title to play for against Yellowknife.
I just wanted to thank everyone here for all the good times and I can't wait until the day we all play together again. Just stay together and learn together and anything is possible. I have had some really good times here. Even with losses, in this league its fun because you are part of a great group of guys who do everything possible to make the game as fun as possible. Preseason rankings, MVP awards, Predictions. It doesn't get any better the Canada A#2.
Thanks again everyone.
