PLAYOFF EDITION
First I would just like to say it’s been a great season in this league with everyone. Activity was a little slow at the beginning but has really come on strong in the 2nd half. I think that for most of us it’s our first time owning a team and I have learned a lot and will be around for seasons to come to make my EuroTrash team a real contender and champion. Congratulations in advance to all the teams that get bumped up in the off-season and good luck with your team in the future, as we will meet again
. I will continue the rankings during the post-season as well as next year. The feedback has been great and I think it really adds to the fun of the game and this league. Ok, enough shit from me. lol
1. Sicilian Centurions (52-7 Win vs. loldots)
16-0 (4-0 vs. Top 5 teams in Zeta)
WOW !!! We already knew this team was tops in the league but an absolute stomping of a VERY GOOD loldots team is a bit surprising to me. I didn’t think the game would be very close but I didn’t expect this lopsided of a game. And it wasn’t as if they caused a bunch of turnovers in the game; in fact the only turnover committed was by the Centurions. This team is picked and will win the entire league and probably without breaking a sweat. First round against the Trondheim Berserkir won’t be close.

2. loldots (7-52 Loss vs. Centurions)
14-2 (2-2 vs. Top 5)
In what has to be a very disheartening last regular season game the dots got crushed by the Centurions. They are onto the playoffs and will probably have a decent run until Mr. Tallguys’ team comes back to town. It will be important to see how the loldots come back from this latest loss. Will they get down and get beat by a team they shouldn’t or will they get up off the mat and look for a rematch? We will see soon enough.
Next game vs. #6 West Yorkshire Bandits
3. California Brew Crew (38-21 Win vs. Ireland Drunken Irish)
14-2 (2-2 vs. Top 5)
I wanted to move this team up to #2 after the loldots bad loss but losing head to head against the dots didn’t help them any. This week they came out a little slow as the Irish jumped on them 14-3 in the first quarter but once Danmoose was able to wake the team up they put it in high gear and didn’t look back. They have what I think is a really good matchup for themselves vs. the Copenhagen Hounds in the first round of the playoffs. The Crew will win handily but the Hounds usually put up a good effort so it will at least help to get the Crew ready for tougher games down the road (can you say rematch vs. loldots in the 2nd round).

4. Monaco Maniacs (84-7 Win vs. Trondheim Berserkir)
12-4 (1-3 vs. Top 5)
Who woke the Maniacs up? After all the talk about the owner selling the team and not coming back next season this team has decided to play out the year and go for broke. I know the Pirates are ahead of them in the league standings but the Maniacs beat the Pirates heads up and just crushed a playoff team by 77 points!! They are in the best game of the 1st round #4 vs. #5 with the Pirates so we will see who is really ready to try and figure out the Centurions in round 2.
Next game vs. #5 Amsterdam Pirates
5. Amsterdam Pirates (49-31 Win vs. West Yorkshire Bandits)
13-3 (1-3 vs. Top 5)
Once again I can’t pull the trigger and move this team up the ladder. Great win vs. a good Bandits team but just not enough after the Maniacs performance this week. They are no doubt ready for the rematch vs. the Maniacs and we’ll get a clear picture of who is deserving of the higher ranking. The rough part is the playoff seeding for the Pirates as they have to beat a good Maniacs team then get the world beating Centurions next if they pull off the upset. However, I can’t wait to see the game vs. the Maniacs this week; should be a good one.

6. West Yorkshire Bandits (31-49 Loss vs. Amsterdam Pirates)
9-7 (0-5 vs. Top 5)
The Bandits are battle tested and ready for the playoffs. I see this team as one of the best scheming teams in the league. They are always ready to try something that you don’t see coming and have a great plan to try and stop what you do. They are in over their heads against the Top 5 teams in the league but that doesn’t mean they can’t upset one or more of them. They have a tough draw against the loldots in the first round but perhaps they get the dots at just the right time. We’ll have to wait and see but I’m hoping for a good showing from the Yorkshire squad.

7. Copenhagen Hounds (52-10 Win vs. Washington Warriors)
7-8 (0-5 vs. Top 5)
The Copenhagen Hounds are no doubt excited about making the playoffs now if only they knew what to do while they are there. Should they beg for the Crew to keep it close? Should they even bother to show up? The Hounds are going to come out guns blazing with a ‘Nothing to Lose’ mentality since know one is expecting much from them. They will no doubt lean on RB Here Comes the Bus but even he won’t be enough to slow down the Crew and their 6 game winning steak.

8. Trondheim Berserkir (7-84 Loss vs. Monaco Maniacs)
9-6 (0-5 vs. Top 5)
This is a team that is simply happy to be in the playoffs. They got totally crushed by the Maniacs on Thursday night and they should expect a worse not better situation on Saturday night then they ever have. This team will be decent again next year but we’ll have to see what they do in the off-season to consider them a real threat next year or just another season of a 1st round playoff disaster.
