C = Clinched Playoff Spot
E = Eliminated From Playoffs

Game of the week – Demo’s vs Canada in a game that decides playoff position for 3 teams.

So the playoffs are shaping up quite nicely. Only the Triple B’s have basically secured the #1 spot. Only a miracle win by Alberta in week 16 would give them a loss, don’t hold your breath. The other 7 positions are still open, the #2 and #3 could be taken by either the UG or Genosha. The #3 and #4 spot by Genosha or Alberta. The PGW are probably staying put in the #5 spot. Spots 6-8 are very interesting to say the least. With the Drift, Canada, and Viking’s currently slotted, the 7-7 Thunderbolts have an outside shot. The Canada Dragons have the toughest road ahead. My prediction is the following:

PGW – 12-4 and secures the 5th spot.
Vancouver – 10-6 and secures the 6th spot.
North Bay Drift – 9-7 and secures the 7th spot.

canada and Rancho go 8-8 and the computer decides the 8th and final spot.

If Rancho beats Manitoba and Canada beats the Demos this week then Canada takes the final spot.

#1/C Triple B's 13th Cadre 14-0-0 W14

Previous #1
High #1
Low –N/A

I could do a big long post about how they are douche bags who bring in mercs, fail to take care of their team and are demoted but somehow escape the wipe only to come back to a conference they dominated two seasons prior, but I won’t. Instead I will say that they are without a doubt leaving Canada A. This week they face Ste. Marie who is coming off their second worst loss of the season vs. UG. Prediction – Triple B’s by 133

#2/C Unsavory Gentlemen 13-1-0 W5

Previous #2
High #2
Low #2

Called out hardcore by the owner of the Drift. Even though that callout would be compared to your 8 your old sister calling you a pussy….at your college graduation, it still stung. The team responded by handing Ste. Marie their second worse loss of the season. They face one of their toughest challenges of the year in the Alberta Irukandji and their stud DE Bob. This game should be tight but the UG are pissed and looking to make a statement. Prediction – UG by 14.

#3/C Genosha X-men 12-2-0 W8

Previous #3
High #3
Low#3

Since their back to back loss vs. the UG and Triple B’s Genosha has been rolling through people. Tayshawn Vick had an infusion of gerbil power and has been lighting it up through the air. This week Genosha faces the cocky but powerful Drift in a statement game for both teams. A win here for North Bay puts them on the map permanently. Genosha’s air power will be too much for the drift. Prediction – Genosha by 28.

#4/C Alberta Irukandji 12-2-0 W2

Previous #5
High #4
Low #6

Alberta has the toughest remaining schedule as they face of vs. the UG and Triple B’s. Two straight losses would put them in a possible playoff positioning battle vs. Prince George. This game should be close but the UG, when they do game plan, do it well. Prediction – UG by 14.

#5/C Prince George Warriors 10-4-0 W2

Previous #6
High #4
Low #6

Played a good game vs. the UG but was absolutely dominated by the Triple B’s. The Warrior’s have TWO very tough games that they must win in order to avoid playing one of the powerhouse teams. As it stands a loss this week vs. Vancouver would put them in a tie for the 5th spot. A loss next week as well could see them slide all the way a tie for 8th. This should be a damn good game but I gotta give the nod to Demarcus, especially after the down turn the Vikes have taken over the last few weeks. Prediction – PGW by 13.

#6 North Bay Drift 8-6-0 W4

Previous #8
High #6
Low #13

The Drift are in the middle of a four game winning streak and are hungry to prove themselves. They get their chance this week as they face off against the #3 ranked Genosha team and their powerful passing game. After placing the Drift in the top 8 at the beginning of the year they took a slide as I knew they would but I suspected they would be back and they didn’t prove me wrong. This is not a good week for them but they should rebound just fine. Prediction – Genosha by 28.

#7 Vancouver Vikings 9-5-0 L4

Previous #4
High #4
Low #9

Reeling after four straight losses, Vancouver is hemorrhaging and fighting to stay in a winnable Rd 1 playoff game. Luckily for the Vikings they play the queen’s angels which should guarantee them a playoff spot. This week they face off against a tough PGW team in a game that should be fun to watch. Prediction – PGW by 13.

#8 Canada Dragons 8-6-0 L2

Played a heartbreaker vs. the UG in a game that surprised everyone. They have the toughest remaining schedule for any team with a chance at making the playoffs. The Demos are no longer the cupcakes of old and PGW represents a team they have little chance at beating. They must win one of these games to stay in the playoff hunt as Rancho looks as though they may win out and go 9-7. This should be a great game! Prediciton – F Hockey by 3.

Previous #9
High #8
Low #9

#9 Rancho Penasquitos Thunderbolts 7-7-0 L1

Previous #7
High #7
Low #9

Rancho has to have a smile on their face. At 7-7 they still have an outside shot at the playoffs. To make that happen they must defeat the FMMP. The Thunderbolts look like an easy favorite on paper and I think it will translate to the field as well. Prediction – Thunderbolts by 21.

#10/E Fort McMurray Mounted Police 5-9-0 W1

Previous #13
High #10
Low #13

The Police are looking at a 5-11 season, a tough one to say the least. They have a good staff and an active owner, I fully expect them to return next year and make a playoff run. They look to play spoilers in Rancho’s playoff push. The game could be close but in the end Rancho is too loaded with talent. Prediction – Rancho by 21.

#11/E Fhockey.com Demos 5-9-0 W1

Previous #11
High #11
Low #13

The Demos are loading up for a possible home field advantage type fun next season. Expect this week to be a statement game as they upset the Canada Dragons and move them further down the playoff ladder. Prediction – Demos by 3.

#12/E Manitoba Lions 6-8-0 L1

Previous #10
High #4
Low #12

I have nothing but respect for Rackhound, he has been one of the most active owners in this forum. This was a tough season all around. The Drift should lock up the 7th spot with a win vs. the Care Bears in week 16 but two losses by the Dragons could make the quirky playoff system of GLB come into play. This week the Lions will coast to victory vs. the Care Bears. Prediction – Lions by 77.

#13/E Saskatchewan Thrashers 3-11-0 L4

Previous #12
High #10
Low #13

The Thrashers resumed their role as the Cubs, Saints, the Clippers, etc of A5. They have a good corp group but their stadium is currently lacking and the funds are low. Hopefully they are investing and making moves to strengthen themselves, only time will tell. This week they travel to queen’s angels for what looks to be a fairly easy W. Prediction – Saskatachewan by 105.

#14/E Sault Ste. Marie Harbingers 2-12-0 L2

Previous #14
High #14
Low #14

What can I say about the Harbringers, they are consistent… They end the season with two more losses. They have a good lien-up and some very good players, they should honestly be better. This week they lose to the Triple B’s by well over 100. Prediction – TB by 133.

#15/E Chilliwack Care Bears CPU 1-13-0 L10

Previous #15
High #15
Low #16

CPU, nuff said.

#16 the queen's angels 0-14-0 L22

Previous #16
High #15
Low #16

Would be more effective as CPU, nuff said.

And again with the cheap shots huh? Do you ever stop crying about getting your ass handed to you? I'll tell ya what we can go with this.........OK your right we all got together and decided we were going to build a team and spend flex just to stay here and beat the unsavory team. Thats the only reason I play GLB is so we can beat them. Man I'm so happy Bort let us put in a fix and move back to this league so we could pound them into the ground. I'll have to buy an extra thousand flex to thank Bort and the guys in the BBB league that helped us contact support and get moved.

God dude get over yourself.

One correction I wanted to make is that Manitoba has been officially eliminated from the playoffs. Even if they finish at 8-8 and canada finishes at 8-8, the dragons have the tiebreaker because they beat them during the season.

You are absolutely right Quzur. I was under the impression that it was overall points but that only comes into play when their are 3 teams. For a detailed listing of reasons you can look here:

I think I mislead you on GLB playoff tiebreakers a bit ago. We were in a 3 way tie and I was thinking it should go by H2H amongst the 3 teams. But I think GLB defaulted to points scored or something. Whatever, my bad. GLB definitely does H2H for tiebreakers.

Well the Dragons proved me wrong. Otherwise it was pretty cut and dry. The PGW vs. Vancouver was a DAMN good game!

Yes it was, way too many turnovers...I had my QB trying a different passing style, obviously not staying on that, lol.

Great game PGW.

good game Vikes.
You did a great job against our rushing game. Not used to seeing Bubba under 100 yards.

Great job Oscarr

Is the East dead...I mean I have only seen West on here...and wondering if the East could get some love like this...Since my team is a bottom feeder and I am really really busy I really can't wish I could but can't

Demos have too many RB's now I think and this game was an example of the problems in trying to get 4 backs enough snaps.
