Why would a sabertooth tiger have a glowing eye? For the sake of biological accuracy, I'd stick with the non-luminous avatar.

If flashlights had existed in the sabertooth era, and one were to hypotheticly be shone into the eye of a broadside sabertooth, then you could have a glowing eye. I think you are safe with biological accuracy

It's a reflection of that darn meteorite that ended the dinosaur era...

That's what I get for trying to comment on hypothetical science. Thank you jdwillemin for putting me in my place. I shall stick to them fancy word-makings from now on...

Those types of conversations are just hilarious sometimes. A friend of mine once asked me if I could have any super power, what would it be? After some thought, I said supersonic speed, where I could just go so fast that I could be anywere on Earth within a second.
He then proceded to give about a 30 minute lecture on how that power would cause all my skin to be ripped from my body only to have myself die a slow painful death of exposure once I reached my destination.
Needless to say, much like this post, that conversation was a huge waste of time. However, it was quite funny none the less.
I guess in conclusion of my story.... uh.... the glowing eye is pretty cool .
