I haven't read all the posts to see if anyone has mentioned this, but I think confidence could factor into the passing game as well. Say the QB has set at a 5 step drop, but doesn't see anyone clearly open. If he has low confidence, he might hold onto the ball and sit there, making a sack likely. If he has high confidence, he is more likely to either throw the ball in there or try to make some space with his legs while receivers try to get open.
Anyways, I really like the whole idea, it adds a lot of realism.

like the idea but what will happen to evenly matched teams number as sacks are rare against somewhat close teams also

...is this even relevant anymore? I know a lot of this has already been done...
