Grand Haven-Chicago for the final playoff spot. Its essentially win and go on to assume the position against Tucson, lose and miss out on a very valuable postseason bonus.

I figured in Grand dawgs1235 style I would breakdown the game, make a biased prediction and provided some base level entertainment for our fellow A7’s.

Maybe TtD can even correct my grammar like old times

Anyway, first here’s what is at stake.

Assuming an Anchorage loss (not a strong assumption), the winner of this game will go on to receive the 8th seed in the playoffs, possibly be pleasured by beautiful women, and get a nice team bonus that can be invested properly into more stadium renovations. I’m sure the morale of being the last team in, winning when they absolutely had to will be priceless. The loser of the game will go on to be named the last one out, forever dooming themselves to a life of shame and guilt.

Why you should watch:

This is a match up of the 2nd (Grand Haven) and 3rd (Chicago) ranked passing offenses in all of A7. The teams have combined for 10476 yards passing, 120 passing touchdowns, and only 21 interceptions against. Each team has three receivers with double digit TD receptions.

Grand Haven Mist

Team Review:

Best Win: vs. Anchorage 27-24
Toughest Loss: at Omaha 21-31… 3 pt. game going into the 4th quarter
Best Offensive Player: Bigg Dawg, QB, 4212 yards passing (5th in A7), 47 TDs (4th in A7), 131.1 rating.
Best Defensive Player: John McClane, CB, 54 Tackles, 4 Ints, 6 sacks.
Good Under the Radar Player Statistically: Antwan Barnes, DE, 51 Tackles, 29 sacks, 1 FF

Chicago Thunder

Team Review:

Best Win: vs. Anchorage 38-35
Toughest Loss: vs. RGB 26-27… RGB scores a TD with 1:16 remain to win the game.
Best Offensive Player: Ziggy Stardust, WR, 70 receptions, 1207 yards (9th in A7), 17 TDs (7th in A7), 6 drops.
Best Defensive Player: Chitown Jayhawk, FS, 131 tackles (3rd in A7), 4 Ints, 17 PDs, 2 FF
Good Under the Radar Player Statistically: Terry Tate Office Linebacker, LB, 81 Tackles, 5 missed, 6 PD, 1 INT, 5 FF (2nd in A7)

KR Production: Grand Haven Primary KR Avg. 23.9, Chicago, 22. Push

Score: Chicago 3 – Grand Haven 0

Totals: Chicago 11 – Grand Haven 7

Grand Haven has a better offense, but lack strong depth on both sides of the ball. Chicago has an excellent special team crew and should be able to help out the team if needed.

So what can we expect?

This game will come down to the Chicago secondary vs. the Grand Haven passing attack. Slow it down and Chicago should be able to put enough points on the board to eck out a win, if they get going, this one could get ugly in a hurry.

My prediction: Chicago 41 -Grand Haven 38

If the Maulers beat the Baggers you are still eliminated.
you are the only team that does not control their own destiny.

Edit: I see where you now posted that now.

GO teabaggers!

i hate putting TtD in a corner. he's going to come up with a great plan.

Tallahassee is already in, so they have no reason to use +5 boosts and gameplan hard.

not a good combination.

Correction: Tallahassee is NOT in.
If they lose and Grand Haven wins then they will miss the playoffs.
You are correct in saying that IF Chicago wins they are in....but I would not be counting on Chicago for anything.

It's an interesting scenario but all end at with same outcome...either team losing to Tuscon or Omaha in round 1. Not being pessimistic...just being realistic.

I'd argue there's a couple of teams in the battle that could run either team close in a 1vs8 matchup, I agree it would take something special to turn it into a win but it will be possible.

yeah, who would have thought the lowly Thunder would take down the Maulers last year in what was probably the best playoff game ever played in BBB13 history.

if i recall we squeaked it out in OT and won in part to 3 TOs we had. It was awesome for our team.

I promise that IF we do make it, we'll give it our hardest shot. we've got some good gameplanners and would do everything in our power to keep it close. at that point any miscue, a fumble, TO, big ST play can swing the game one way or another.
