The game continues to turn on and on. Time is running out on the regular season and while most spots are decided some things remain to be seen.
1. Chuck Norris(12-1)
Took down the Mammertini and now have a thunderlock on the league's top spot only 3 games remaining none against teams with any chance against them. Will have to avoid complacency in order to avoid rustyness heading into the playoffs but other than that its full steam ahead.
Final Four: C-Knights, Sidewinders, Tigers
Projected: 15-1 1st Place
2. Hollywood Knights(12-1)
Appear locked in this spot though not totally out of the woods yet. They can't move up though they do have two tough games left this week against the Wolves and they finish the season against the Bulls. Should easily finish second though and assure themselves a pair of first round games.
Final Four: Wolves, Gladiators, Bulls
Projected: 14-2 2nd Place
3. Hague Pirates(11-2)
They just keep on grinding and grinding up opponents in their breakout season. Other than the top two teams they have shown quite capable of taking on all comers and you have to expect them to be even better in the post-season. Have one decent game left against the Bulls but should come through it unscathed.
Final Four: Bulls, Minotaurs, Outlaws
Projected: 14-2 3rd Place
4. Warsaw Wolves(10-3)
After getting beat(upset?) by Hague my Wolves bounced back to deal with the Iberian Bocs handidly. We finally got a quality one and now face off against our old nemisis the Hollywood Knights.
Final Four: Hollywood, Mammertini, C-Knights
Projected: 13-3 4th Place
5. Iberian Bocs(10-3)
Got beaten by the Wolves and now become huge Hollywood fans routing for them to take down the Wolves. If Hollywood comes through only the Bulls have a shot at derailing the Bocs hopes for homefield.
Final Four: Gladiators, Bulls, Athens
Projected: 13-3 5th Place
6. Milano Mamertini(9-4)
Got shelacked by Chuck but probably have their eyes on the Pirates who appear to be the Mammertini's first round opponent. They still have a tough game left against the Wolves but other than that two relatively weak opponents.
Final Four: Vikings, Wolves, Gladiators
Projected: 11-5 6th Place
Lying in the weeds
7. Misc Manlets(7-6)
The Manlets march on, finally above .500 for the first time since week 1. The Manlets should continue to wrap up victories and look forward to a first round matchup against Hollywood.
Final Four: Outlaws, Tigers, Manglers
Projected: 10-6 7th Place
8. Pamplona Bulls(8-5)
The Bulls seem destined to be the 8th seed. They are about to start a menacing three game schedule against some of the league's best. Not much can alter their playoff fortune (unless they can win 2) except that they can play spoiler to someone, potentially changing someones playoff fortune if they can win at least one.
Final Four: Pirates, Bocs, Hollywood
Projected: 8-8 8th Place
Game of the Week: Hollywood Knights vs. Warsaw Wolves
The Knights and Wolves resume what has become (IMHO) the best rivalry in the league. GLB doesn't produce great rivalries often but in terms of what happened last season and how things looked early in this season these two teams are bound to go at each other. Last season the Knights earned homefield by beating the Wolves by a FG, then launched a second half comeback in the second half to knock the Wolves out of the playoffs. Ok homer prediction this time is payback for the Wolves.
Wolves 43 Hollywood 34
Must See TV: Hague Pirates vs. Pamplona Bulls
The Hague Pirates are the most efficient team in the conference. The Bulls are very skilled at a number of methods and in many ways remind me of Hague. When either of these teams dont make mistakes they win. The Bulls though seem a season or two behind the Pirates.
