I commented about this in another thread and want to see what the interest is in having an end of season tourney between the 2 conferences. It would pair the #1's through as far down as there is any interest....hopefully at least to #10, but I would be happy to take it all the way to #15 if the teams are interested. It could start as soon as the final standing are set and continue as long as needed/possible.

It would be 1 game only against the other conference team that finished in the same spot in the standings as you did. You would set the game up among yourselves and then post the score...then let the smack talk begin!

If we can't get them all in due to teams going late in the playoffs not wanting to do it, that is fine, we should be able to get them all in with the exception of the final 2 at least.

Time to walk the walk guys....all I hear so far is the Alpha talk...err.....writing!

BTW.....smack talk is allowed and encouraged in this thread as any of you deem appropriate. This includes Alpha teams.

BTW #2....I only suggested this tourney since it was safe for the Seals since we wouldn't be matched up against Christchurch.....whew! (no disrespect to Christchurch meant guys....I mean to disrespect the Alpha conference in its entirity, not Christchurch specifically)

Someone told me that Alpha actually stood for SEC. I am not sure the Buckeyes are looking to play the SEC anytime soon

But if we must how about we play the Marauders on December 20th!

Speaking for Gold Coast Marauders, we would be happy to play your #1 team (Osaka Buckeyes) should that game not happen anyways in the playoffs. We won't, however, play such a game prior to facing them in the playoffs. Based on all of 5Star's postings, he would just use that game as a means to scout us out. I wouldn't trust we would get his best game. We'll play Osaka in the Championship game should that happen. If not, we'd be happy to play a scrimmage after we win the championship or are eliminated. We're always looking to play good teams to improve ourselves!

If the #1's, meet in the final, we will consider that the tourney game obviously! Games prior to the playoffs won't count due to scouting concerns, unless neither team is in the playoffs....then it won't matter and they can play anytime after the standing are set.

We'll play if it happens.

As far as which conference is better, it is really hard to say. I can only speak about the teams that were in AA#3 last year as I haven't scouted any of the new guys, and won't unless we pull an upset in the playoffs.

Gold Coast is a very good team, they have improved a lot over the last couple of seasons, I'd say they would be 2-5 in Zeta.

EC Express has been a quality team for a while, they'd be 3-5 as I think the Minos are a better squad.

Cook Island is a good team, but I'd say they are about as good as the Convicts the Zeta 6.

All in all the conferences are pretty even, but I would give a slight edge to Zeta 1-6 and an edge to Alpha 7-12.

Last year Alpha was stronger with a plethora of powerful P teams in Papua, Paula, and PPC.

We will probably never find out, but AA#3 is very strong 1-10, much stronger than AA#4 as any Alpha or Zeta team in the top 6 would be 1 or 2 in either conference there. This is shown in AAA#2 as old AA#3 teams are showing very strong. AA#3 is similarly stronger than AA#2 IMO. AA#3 is very comparable to AA#1, but AA#1 has been around 1 and 1/2 years longer.

This is a very strong conference both Alpha and Zeta, because the teams push each other to be better.

Bort in the post season scrimmages matches up pretty equal teams. I know last year when we lost the second round playoff game we played the 2 alpha teams that also lost in the second round. Not the exact system you are talking about, but the playoff loser end of playing each other.

So far Zeta is 4-0 for the first round playoff lossers.

Alpha 5 losses to Zeta 6 10-36
A6 losses to Z7 10-17
A7 losses to Z8 31-37
A8 losses to Z4 0-33

I know they are meaningless scrimages, but still games.

blah, blah, blah

Isn't the goal to be the best team, not the best conference?

Gold Coast 2-5 team in Zeta. That's funny.

Dont worry I deleted that whole if we get eliminated crap. Because I mean come on. But I agree that the tourney is a great idea. Why not beat Osaka twice?

Why stop at twice? I would go for the hat trick with 3 times.

It always seems like both #1 seeds never make it to the championship, atleast one of them gets upset. However I would love to see the matchup of both #1 seeds so we can really see who is the powerhouse of this league. I am looking forward to it happening.

The real powerhouse of the league is the team that wins the championship. That's pretty much a given.
