Me: We are here with tyante, owner of the Tana River Ewoks. Thank you for giving us some of your time for this interview

tyante: My pleasure. It is always good to talk some football.

Me: I see your team is coming off another big win, thats 2 in a row. Did losing your first game worry you or your team at all?

t: The first game was interesting. We threw 5 interceptions and lost by 6 points. I wasn't really worried, but I knew some offensive adjustments had to be made. We've been working on that and the results have started to show.

Me: Where do you see yourself when the playoffs roll around?

t: It is hard to pin point that right now. There is a lot of competion in our conference and league. Our goal right now is to make the playoffs. I would like to be one of the top 4 teams in the conference.

Me: Who do you see as the biggest competition in your conference?

t: There are a few teams. The Huskers Illustrated Bugeaters look pretty good. Los Angeles Express has also played well. I would say they are currently sitting on top the conference. Other teams are improving.

Me: Speaking of the Bugeaters, there is some outcry in your division about a possible conflict of interest with you GM'ing a team that is in direct competition with a team you own, would you like to comment?

t: I am the Defensive Coordiinator for the Bugeaters. We do play in week 5. For that game I have already assigned all tactical game planning to the GM of the Ewoks, Mikeisdaman. I told the Bugeater team I will not help them for the game either. I am just going to remove myself from both teams. It wouldn't be fair to play a favorite to either side.

Me: That seems like a prudent approach, but lets just say that the Ewoks clinch a playoff berth, and the Bugeaters need 1 more win to get into the playoffs, and they are playing each other.... would the thought of throwing the game cross your mind?

t: No it wouldn't. This game should be played by the players on the field. I've made my stance clear to both teams. The Bugeater's owner may even ban me from their forums leading up to the game. Ideally it would be best if one of the teams is successful enough to move up to the next division.

Me: Ok, enough of that, so what immediate needs do you see for the starting lineup of the Ewoks?

t: I am actually pretty happy with our roster. We have recruited a good core of players and are working to improve. For the time being, I think we have our roster pretty well set. That could always change in the coming weeks, but I like how our team is looking.

Me: You being the owner of one of the expansion teams, why dont you talk to us a little bit about what it was like these past few weeks in terms of recruitment, and what your thoughts are on the expansion as a whole.

t: Recruitment was tough. I've talked with other owners and they all seem to echo some of the same things. Many teams liked to throw money at players to sign them. I tried to instead speak with the players before signing them. I want to build a team for the future full of players who want to be on our team.

Me: So any parting advice to the new players and owners out there in the GLB?

t:I know there are still many owners looking to fill their rosters. Keep working at it. It is not an easy job, but the reward of your team having some success is a huge payoff. For the new players, try to talk with the different team owners to find a place you think you will be comfortable. Being on a team you like will help you enjoy the game more.

Me: well, we appreciate your time, and hope you will come back and see is when the playoffs roll around. Good luck with the rest of your season.

t: Thanks a lot.
