As I walked into the Gulf State Practice Complex today, and headed toward Head Coach sgtjayb's office and smelled the faint scent of champagne coming from his desk. I asked him if he had celebrated too hard over the Demons first win of the season. He told me that getting his first win as a head coach this season was something to be happy about, but we have a LONG way to go.
I watched running back drills today and came away impressed by Speeed Racers ability to cut quickly from side-to-side. During his water break I asked him if he thinks he can have a repeat performance from the last game. He said, "Hey man look, last game was just getting the butterflies out of my stomach and todays game will be my coming out party."
There was a little too much excitement today in defense warmups as NT Junior Dreed and FS Jay B. Thompson got into a little heated argument about who was the better player on the defensive side of the ball. Coaches had to separate those two, but ten minutes later they were back playfully jawing at each other. I had a chance to talk to CB Yougot Pwned today about what he expects from the Stingers offense today and he told me he doesnt except to get many footballs thrown his way, but if they make the mistake of doing it, he's going to make them pay for it.
Both teams are 1-2-0 and NEED this win to stay in a playoff race. The Demons do not want to start 0-3 at home and hopefully the Demon faithful will make the game hell for the Stingers. I see the Demon defense dominating in this game as the Demons take a W 17-7.
