Seriously, because Oklahoma is playing Mizzou, they had the Oklahoma AD on the radio for an interview and while there has been a lot of crap about the BCS, they looked at some other conferences tie breakers and even if those were used, it is still Oklahoma.
I think they picked the right team myself. I also believe that either OK or Texas would blow the crap out of Mizzou in the Big 12 championship game. The only team Mizzou MIGHT stand a chance against is Tech.
Bottom line is Texas lost to a team they had no business losing to and unfortunately, they have to pay for it.

Oklahoma doesn't deserve to go, but I feel they have a better chance at beating the SEC team than UT.

Oklahoma lost to Texas, which lost to Texas Tech, which got destroyed by Oklahoma. Came down to point differential between them and the best logical choice was made. BCS's problem is that there are too many teams and no playoffs. Don't see why all the Texas fans are bitching because the team they lost to is ranked below them.
Can't wait to see the Alabama and Florida game. Hope Alabama wins because I just can't stand Florida for some reason.

All I want is a Penn State/USC Rose Bowl....a win there would get the media out of this Big 10 sucks mode...

Eh, Florida hasn't played anyone for a long time aside from LSU, but they are so bipolar this season it doesn't weigh much in my opinion. They don't win close games very often, it's either a blow out, or a close loss. Alabama wins the close ones and doesn't rely on the annoying QB options that so many colleges run now. That offense style tends to get shut down by good defenses.
USC is lucky they play is such a joke of a conference. Without the weak ass opposition they wouldn't be in the top 5.

Their loss to Ole Miss doesn't look as bad as it did when it happened. I think Ole Miss' 4 losses are by a combined 13 points or so, and actually are a pretty good team. Since the game, UF has just destroyed everyone they played. They killed LSU (before LSU laid down and dies, which pisses me off. That team fucking quit on us, and that is bull shit... let me get back on topic), they killed UGA, USC(top 25 when game was played), FSU, and I am probably missing some games as well. UF is legit.

I'm leaning towards OU being the correct pick as well. You can't just say "Head to Head" and try to leave out Tech. I understand that the win over OU was on a "neutral" field, but the way OU destroyed Tech was the most impressive win of the three, regardless of it being in Norman.
I hope you are right about OU blowing the crap out of MU this week.

With the way the BCS is cursed I wouldn't be surprised if OU loses, and then UT makes title game- and then for the next month we get to hear whining from a few conference champions about how "they didn't even win their division." Only to have UT get destroyed in the NC game, and having people saying "told you so." Then people crying that their team got screwed, and could have beaten eventual NC UF or UA (probably UF since they already have a loss)

I can't imagine why chrismikehead would want OU to blow out Mizzou.. didn't you guys get enough the other night?
I used to live in KC, so am well aware of the KU/MU rivalry, even tho I am not a fan of either.
Mizzou beating OU would be along the lines of Tech beating Texas. Should not happen, but it is technically possible and would be a huge upset. The line is something like 15 1/2 right now and most people around here think it is going up.

If you look at the SEC rules, Texas would actually have been the representative according to their rules. The SEC tiebreaker goes from conference win-loss to win-loss within each part of the conference, then if the two (or three teams) in question are within 5 spots of each other in the BCS, then it comes down to the head-to-head matchup. In this case, it would be a three way tie until you look at the BCS, which would throw out Tech.
"In this case, the head-to-head results of the top two ranked tied teams shall determine the representative in the SEC Championship Game."
Therefore, Texas would be the representative while OU would stay home.
As for the second comment, though Texas historically has a 'better' football team and program, I don't know how you could say that an 11-1 team is a "team they had no business losing to."
Full disclosure: I am a UT alum and a die-hard football and basketball fan. That said, my real beef is with those in the Big 12 that made the decision to have the BCS, a system with the sole and only purpose to relegate the two national title contenders, to determine who would play in the Big 12 championship game.
How could they not foresee or even play out a scenario in which something like this would happen? Both OU and Texas have been playing well for 10 years now and something like this was bound to happen. As for all the PR bullshit and politiking of the coaches and running up the score, if anything, Stoops played the game better than Brown and that is why the computers gave OU the advantage. I get all that, I just blame those that used a flawed system to determine the winner of the conference. It becomes more about politics and computers than what actually happened on the field. Who honestly thought the Giants would beat the 18-0 Patriots? That is why the game is played, it should be about what happened during the course of the year ON THE FIELD. Otherwise, it just seems to negate what happened during the season. This scenario would never happen in the pro game and shouldn't happen in college.

Texas Tech is also within 5 ( at #7 ) of Texas so you are back to all 3 being 1-1 head to head.
