My level 20 C ( http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=812876 ) has 13.7 speed and 27.47 agi atm, and I was wondering if I should be pumping speed at all to match agility, or if I should just let it increase with natural leveling growth.

Speed isn't a minor. You'll need to train it with something. Unfortunately, it's options are pretty terrible. I try to get it done early with agility, or leave stamina low for later.
As far as how important it is, that's debatable. Some people would tell you to leave it at 10. Others say around 30 (including myself). I like to be well rounded, even if the stat has little direct performance on most plays. No way will 50 agi / 10 spd get you in front of a blitzer or an agile pass rusher like 50 agi / 30 spd would.
