Upnorth has asked me to take care of the predictions for the rest of the season, as he wont have the time. Will be a bit sporadic this week as i dont have much time and hadnt planned to do them, but should be better again next "week"
Enjoy
Lion:
A pretty boring week in Lion, with big favorites in most games, and the underdogs will have to work really hard to pull the upsets. On the other hand, we should have a superb finish to the season, as all 3 top teams have yet to face off, and Cape Verde and RSW has a big game in week 16 too. No GOTW in Lion this week, but "the game that shall not be mentioned" would probably be GOTW
White Nile Piranha at Katanga Diamonds
Katanga is still leader of the pack, altho RSW is right behind them with a 10-0 record aswell. 2 more wins for Katanga and they can go into the RSW game as undefeated, something the fans have been hoping for all year. Looks like it could be a battle of undefeated teams, as both squads have relatively easy games the coming weeks. First of all, Katanga has to keep their focus on White Nile tho, as a loss here would be a catastrophe. White Nile's intense beating by RSW doesnt hold much promise for excitement here today tho, and after getting a few good wins, the Piranha looks to have fallen back into a hole. After this game they face boh BoB and Cape Verde within 3 weeks, and they might have the hardest schedule left in the conference. Focus is likely already on next season, as they look to have outplayed their role this season.
Diamonds win 72-6
Burundi Hutu at Red Sea Wave
The Hutu boys are finally back to a non-negative record after 3 wins in a row against Malagasy, White Nile and Kilimanjaro. The wins haven't been too convincing tho, and it looks like another struggle against the beefed up Wave. With their remaining schedule in mind, it looks like play-offs might be missed for the Hutu for the first time in several seasons, a scenario that must have surprised the Hutu leadership who probably planned for a lot more with all the top teams promoted after last season. RSW needs this win bad, as they have games against the 3 other top-4 teams in the last 4 weeks of the season. A strong showing here would be big for RSW, as everything needs to be 100% for the upcoming finishing drive if they wish to be at the top after week 16.
RSW wins 56-13
Malagasy Bushmen at Band of Brothers
BoB are right on the tail of the 2 top teams, sporting a 9-1 record and a very good form currently. The remaining challenges this year is the games against RSW and Katanga in week 14 and 15, and a top 4 place is getting closer week for week.
BoB wins 83-0
Ethiopia Executioners at Cape Verde Headhunters
Cape Verde are in 4th place currently with a 8-2 record, and have 2 tough games against Freetown and RSW in week 12 and 16 left. They will have to win all their remaining games to be certain of a home field game in the play-offs, so no game can be taken lightly. Except this one, monkeys could win against Ethiopia tbh. Lazy monkeys even.
CV wins 121-0
Freetown Palookas at Rhein Main Magic Mushrooms
Freetown has lost their 3 latest games against RSW, Katanga and BoB, and have a nice little bye week here before another 3 tough games awaits against their closest competition, PHP, WoA and Cape Verde.
Freetown's wins 77-0
Atlantic Blue Jays at Warriors of Anubis
WoA have only lost to the current top-5, and a win against the Blue Jays is not only expected by the fans, it's demanded. Currently tied for #7-#9 with Hutu and AF, they need all the wins they can get, so it should be a determined WoA team playing today, despite their role as heavy favorites. The week 13 game looks to be the last really tough game left for WoA.
Another win for the Jackal boys, 53-16
Kilimanjaro Kamikaze at Scottish Sharks
This might very well be the most exciting game of the week in Lion, even tho both teams looks to be missing the play-offs this year. Not much but honor on the line, but as both teams will we be here next year, bragging rights should be worth a fair deal. Hard to call a favorite, so it will be my Pick 'Em
Pick 'Em
Elephant:
Richmond Raiders at Serengeti Wildebeest
Richmond only has 2 tough games left to make it a perfect season, and this isn't one of them.
Raiders win 97-0
EEORG Bastards at Real Men of GeniusGAME OF THE WEEK
Now this is what i call a game. Get you popcorn ready, 'cause this should be a blast. Despite EEORG's current position as #8, they look to have corrected much o what cost them some early games, and this should be regarded as a game between top teams. RMoG has won everything since their week 1 loss against BoB from Lion, and are favorites today. It has looked very convincing so far, and the time to prove their right to a top spot is here, with games against Cairo Cannibals, Dakar and Richmond following this one. The only way to take the #1 spot is to win the remainder of their games, including the Richmond game, and knowing the RMoG buys, that is the plan. So dont expect a team easily surprised. Never the less, EEORG looks to have to pull something out of the hat in order to get a win here today, and stability will be a key word for them. New kids or Old Bastards?
Pick 'Em
Rwanda Assassins at Cairo Crocodiles BIG GAME
Another good game in store here, altho with Cairo in a demanding favorite role. The Crocs migh have the toughest remaining schedule in Elephant, and need a win here to keep up with Richmond and RMoG. Their only loss so far came against RMoG who they are currently tied for #2 with, so any hope of a top spot means doing better than RMoG in the raming rounds. That likely means winning every game left, so this game is super important for the Crocs. Rwanda has looked strong, but not as convincing as Cairo, and loosing to 3 promoted teams, even if they are all in top-4, doesnt make the fans happy. They still have games against Swaziland, Lake M and EEORG after this one, so a win today would be huge in their efforts to get a good seed.
Crocs win 42-27
Cairo Cannibals at Zimbabwe Black Rhinos
The Cannibals are currently in #4 spot with a 7-3 record, and have made some great results in their first season in AA. The game against RMoG and the derby against the other Cairo team, the Crocs, look to be the last tough challenges, and they have the opportunity to keep their current position and the home game that comes with it if they can continue the good work.
Cairo Omnivores win 105-0
Sierra Leone Head Shrinkers at Dakar Dragons
Dakar are currently 6-4, and have had an impressive season so far. They currently hold the #6 spot, altho with EEORG and Lake M right behind them with a similar 6-4 record. Dakar holds the tie-breaker against both EEORG an Lake M tho, and so have the chance to stay ahead if they can do well enough. The games against Swaziland and especially RMoG looks to be the final challenges this season. Looking good Dakar
Dragons win 74-0
Lake M'Zumba Cannibals at Trinidad Trojans
This sure is a game
Swaziland Semnikati at Casablanca White Houses
Swaziland looks like the only promoted team in Elephant that isn't more or less sure of a play-off spot. Currently 6-4 and with tough games against Dakar, Rwanda and Lake M left, it could be a short season for the Semnikati this year. A win here today is needed, and expected, and they will need all the confidence they can muster before next weeks clash with Dakar.
Swaziland wins 42-24
Cape Town Shinobis at Zanzibar Leopards
This is also a game, or so Ive heard
Enjoy
