should be a good friday. looks like several games could be game of the week

OWLS WIN!!! OWLS WIN!!

In a stunning upset in a game closer than the final score suggests due to a last second TD by the Owls, the Munich Owls showed they can play above themselves beating the Galleons.

Many Galleon players accused the Owls of running up the score when the Owls RB Matsuzaka broke it for a 53 yard TD with only 9 seconds left. The Owls had no comment.

The winning play for the owls might have been the super gutsy play on a 4th and less than 1 from their OWN 11 yard line. 5 minutes left in the 3rd quarter and trailing by 6 points. They make the 1st down and 5 plays later the Owls QB McHenry hits Matsuzaka over the middle who breaks it for a 71 TD pass to take a 17-16 lead.

The Galleons were able to briefly retake the lead in the 4th with a 48 yard field goal. The Owls took it right back down the field. There was more controversy as the owls with 2nd and goal on the 3 looked like they had dived across the goal line. An initial indication by the ref was touchdown. But the Galleons challenged and the ball was placed on the 4 inch line.
The Galleons D got a huge lift as they held twice more and held on to their slim lead keeping the Owls out of the end zone.

But any celebration was short lived as the Owls defense played equally as tough and the Galleons failed to convert on a 3rd and 4 and were kicking from the back of their endzone. A average kick and decent runback gave the owls great field position on the Galleons 30.

3 Plays later the owls punch it in to take the lead by 5 with 1:40 left in the game.
The Galleons took it to midfield, but a surprise CB blitz caught the Galleons QB totally by surprise as he never saw it coming. Then on 4th and 15, he was rushed into dumping the ball off and came up 6 yards short of the first down dashing any remaining hopes the Galleons had for a last second comeback.

The Owls continue to surprise teams with better records than their own knocking the Eagles off their surprise fast start and now the Galleons. This win should lift the Owls out of their usual bottom tier ranking and whisk them into the playoffs for the first time ever.
