The Season is now halfway over, and the league is saddened by the folding of the Vikings. It's always tought to lose one of the more active owners, but as they say in Hollywood the show must go on. No suprises last week so things are shaking up according to plan
Top 2
1. Hollywood Knights(8-0)
Yikes ..... these blowouts are getting a bit out of control on GLB but of course Hollywood is an electrifing team. The Mammertini are good but really got hammered in this one by a superior opponent. Oh and by the way Sean feel free to start raving about the full season projection.
Big 2nd Half Games: Chuck Norris(G-13), Warsaw(14)
Projected: 14-2 3rd Place
2. Chuck Norris(8-0)
OK their a machine scoring their largest point total and victory of the season against the hapless Outlaws. Chuck keeps right on rolling and nothing seems like its going to stop them this season.
Big 2nd Half Games: Bocs(G-12) Hollywood(G-13)
Projected: 16-0 1st Place
Still very dangerous
3. Warsaw Wolves(6-2)
Beat up the Bulls pretty good. Our second half schedule is pretty light up to and until we enter a tought four game schedule that are all lined up in a row. Still everyone in Warsaw has the Hollywood game circled on their calendar, its payback time.
Big Second Half Games: Hague(G-12), Bocs(G-13), Knights(G-14), Mammertini (G-15)
Projected: 14-2 2nd Place
4. Hague Pirates(7-1)
If you would have bet me at the start of the season that these guys would have been in contention for a home playoff game I would have said no-freaking way playoff spot yes, homefield though Hague? Arn't they the team that ho-hum does just enough to be competative. Well that was the old Hague this seasons team is much better, their passing game may be ho-hum but with everyone geared towards shutting down the pass their rushing attack is ranked #3 in a league with no GREAT running teams anymore.
Big Second Half Games: Chuck(G-10), Warsaw(G-12), Bulls(G-14)
Projected: 13-3 4th Place
A step back
5. Iberian Bocs(6-2)
Finally developed some consistency this season performing solidly game in and game out. Believe it or not this is the league's #1 passing team up to this point. I expect them to keep exploting that, if they can learn to stop the pass...well that would certainly buoy them in the standings.
Second Half Biggins: Chuck(G-11), Wolves(G-13), Bulls(G-15)
Projected: 12-4 5th Place
6. Milano Mamertini(5-3)
From the leagues #1 passers to the #1 rushers. Yep its the Mammertini they got Haused by Hollywood but now feature the Leagues game of the Week against the Manlets. They just missed the playoffs last season I see nothing to stop them from making it this year. But thats mostly by default, with them reeling from 3 losses in a row they look vulernable to go 4 in a row with the Manlets headed into town and they still have some tough opponenets left.
Big Second half: Manlets(G-9), Chuck(G-13), Wolves(G-15)
Projected: 10-6 7th Place
The Best of the rest
7. Pamplona Bulls(4-4)
Have some winnable games on the horizon, especially with their balanced offense. I'd say Raid the Vikings for players and this is another team I would recommend to anyone. However their end of season schedule - BRUTAL.
Big Second Half: Manlets(G-10), Hague(G-14), Bocs(G-15), Hollywood(G-16)
Projected: 8-8 8th Place
In a world of hurt
8. Misc Manlets(3-5)
Just finished the most brutal oppening season schedule of anyone in the league. Nasty Nasty Nasty business It's not super easy just yet but the Mammertini and Bulls on your schedule is certainly better than the way it started. Still it's quite an early hole and they will need to do some work to make it.
Big Second Half: Mammertini(G-9), Bulls(G-10)
Projected:11-5 6th Place
9. Vienne Vikings(4-4)
FOLDED- Yikes I say so long to the fun active Milan. Who names his team after the Vienna Vikings a team he used to play for. I salute him as a person who has gone through the work of having to rebuild a gut job and know exactly how hard it can be. Good luck and God speed. This does bring up my point about league parity though - active guys like Milan shouldn't have almsot no-shot and their are way too many blowouts week in and week out, I think everyone knows this. I have a post in Epic suggestions designed to resolve some of the parity issues, please drop by and add your two cents to it http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=1487403
10. Luxemborg Tigers(4-4)
No I dont believe they will make the post-season, well at least on their own. With the loss of the Vikings the Tigers are now in that "best of the rest" mode. If another team folds -and promptly goes into the tank, these guys could slip in as the 8th seed. Which would be a huge boon for them. Think about it Chuck you could fold and do the Tigers a huge favor
Big Second Half: Well every week except for 13 and 14
Projected: 7-9 9th Place
