What would be cool to have is a random matchup meter. Pick two teams and get a match up screen.

Say, Easter Island Moai vs. Sydney Sea Dragons.

Just to get an idead of how top teams in the two conferences match up.

Alpha Conference is going to come down to Eastern Island and Ohio Valley. The winner of their match up will take first, and the loser takes second. But I have no idea how either team matches up against the top of Zeta.

It's like trying to compare the top team in the PAC-10 to top team in the SEC.

Let's be serious. Alabama and Florida will both decimate the top team in the PAC-10. Hell, Kentucky would run roughshod over the top ten in PAC-10.

I just don't know which conference is the PAC-10 and which is the SEC.

I wouldn't count Sydney and Alice Springs out just yet. Or even Somoa and Palau for that matter. Any of those teams are capable of emerging as the Alpha Conference champ as well.

Overall I think Alpha is much stronger at the top. The #3 team in Zeta has already lost to the #13 team in Alpha. And the #1 team in Zeta was handled pretty well by Sydney. Any of the top six teams in Alpha would win Zeta without a problem.

THis is just my opinion. I just looked at wins vs. common opponents and head-to-head. PLus we've been in Alpha for 3 seasons and have never beaten Sydney and split with Alice Springs.

I don't think you can separate the top 5-6 teams of Alpha --- but we've seen an early season matchup with the Justice vs. the Dragons. It's also hard because I don't know who has or hasn't boosted, but what happens if a team like Solomon boosts late? I mean, they look like a dangerous cusp team to me.

If you're looking for an overall ranking Alpha vs. Zeta -- then it's Alpha right now and it's really not debatable. It doesn't mean that it will look like that by week 16, and it doesn't mean that the champion will come from there, but it's Alpha easily right now, imho.

Lots of football to be played though and lots of unknowns still left, as we're just getting to the half-way point.

I would agree that the best team in the league, as of right now, is in the Alpha conference. I would however not count out a bunch of team in the Zeta conference to win it all. The playoffs aren't here and you will have some teams pull some big trades and improve their teams dramatically. You will also have teams that have GM's still learning the ropes and fine tuning their game plans.

I would not rule out anyone body that makes the playoffs at this point because they are all good enough to pull off an upset, and they all have a chance to improve.

Thanks,

agreed 100%. That's why I look at a team like Solomon and to me, I just wouldn't want to see them in the playoffs at all. No one wants to face Justice, or the SeaDragons, either -- but there are 8-10 teams realistically capable of winning it all this season.

Totally agree. In our first season we won 7 straight games to get into the playoffs. Snuck up on a lot of teams. After that we've been in the top 4.

Well, if you really want to know, despite counting my team out already, here you go

However match up screens don't mean much for figuring out who is going to win a game.

No doubt that the Fire will be in the mix at the end of the year. We still gotta tough road to go with Easter Island, Vero, and Sydney left. Not to mention the Cowboys up next.

I didn't keep track of this Conference last season, but I would say if 2 of the teams that moved up from A are leading the Zeta it might be a bit weak. This is not a knock on the teams that were here last season, just an observation. This is right now, our team has a bunch of good players and I feel that we can give a tough game to every team that we face. Good luck to everyone and have a filling Thanksgiving.

Drunk Smoker you definitely are drunk we smoked you in the scrimmage
game and we could smoke you even worse now. So just cause you have
had a pretty easy schedule so far don't think your in the elite teams
of this league yet.

You squeaked by Boondock and Tasmania, and haven't faced us or Dunedin yet, plus you lost to the Justice pre-disbanding and haven't played PNG. So while I do think you guys are talented on the field and in the coaching booth, I'm not crowning your asses yet.

actually those teams that are regualted up are quite good . most of them woop up on their conference and ususally land 3-9 at the next level.

+1

It is a little early to claim anything.

Not to mention the Zeta lost 4 of its best teams this offseason.
