Well, not permanently. We were in a tough situation and it was the only thing we could do.

Not sure how closely anyone has followed this team, but the previous owner only bought one stadium section. He abandoned the team part way through season 4 and left the roster in disarray. New owner came on for season 5, and we did our best to rebuild the team. Started to at least get respectable scores by the end of the season, but we needed to do a lot with personnel and scheme to compete in this conference.

Did our best over the offseason. Couldn't buy a stadium upgrade after re-signing everyone who was worth re-signing and had to recruit via verbal commitment because of having only $10k in the bank until ticket sales! Got some good players regardless, though.

Well, after we started getting ticket sales and concessions, we ran the math again and realized that the best we could hope for was a repeat of the same off-season. Either we could afford to buy one corner or help some players with equipment, but not both! Neither would leave much for FA, and either way the long-term problem of the stadium would be there. Basically the team would stagnate and not be able to live up to its financial commitments to its players.

Only way around that was to do a gut and rebuild. Not a fun process, but it's the only way this team will become competitive. If anything, we should have done it last season.

As I mention in the post linked to above (so we don't rip anybody off who does any due diligence), most of our best players have agreed to re-join the team after this is done. We'll still have a lot of work rebuilding, though, but we'll be starting with a core group of players and agents with enough financial solvency to make something happen.

It might be a couple of seasons, but we plan to be back here, if at all possible, with a winning team for those of you still in Canada A #3 to contend with. Might have to do some swaps to make it happen, though. Maybe once we start putting the team back together, we can set up some scrimmages with you guys! I'm assuming we'll be demoted, but that's pretty likely at this point.

At least we managed to beat Lethbridge and make a close game against the Warriors first! Heck, if had game-planned and didn't trade a player or two, we might have beaten them!

No blame to assign here. It's a fact of the game that this needs to happen when teams are mismanaged.

I just hope the team name never changes.

Yeah, it is pretty funny isn't it? Not sure there are many Kilted Yaksmen in Canada! Current owner hasn't talked about changing it so we'll probably be wearing the plaid skirts for a while.

I feel sorry for you guys, though I got two good players for another team I GM.
It's always a problem when a team is resold and the stadium gets reset. Especially if you are in a league where you need players on a pretty high lvl to compete and this is one of the otughest for this!
Good luck though and hope that you guys will be back on your feet soon!

Well, the plan seems to be working so far. We've gotten enough to build out as much of the stadium as was possible, and still will have a few million left over after salaries to sign back those who've committed to return. FA will be tough this offseason 'cause we'll have a lot of holes to fill, but at least we'll finally have the cash to do something.

We didn't see the cap changes coming so that kinda threw a monkey wrench at us, but not too bad. We'll lose one committed player by having to operate under a lvl 34 cap for half the season, but that should be it. Hopefully we can represent A #3 well enough for one season in BBB to earn a spot back here with you guys. By then, we should pose a bit more of a challenge!

I'm pretty sure that Canadian BBB leagues were operating under a lvl 21 cap, which should have been raised today (or tomorrow) to lvl 28. By the end of the season, it should go up to lvl 34.

The Canadian BBB leagues are newer than A, so they're still in the cap progression. Bort announced a change two days ago that basically added more cap levels at the high end, up to a lvl 34 cap.

Since I don't think our CPU players will be able to beat anybody, it's a safe bet we're getting demoted! Since we only beat one team, no way two teams can go 0-16 in this league and beat us to demotion.

By the way, there isn't much of a trade market for QB's right now. No interest in renting ours on the trading block. Anybody want to rent one of ours (lvls 29 & 28, both with good builds and equipment) for season 6, we'll take a reasonable cash offer.

The Yaksmen will be back. We are going through the same issues in Ottawa.
