Apprecaite all the love and everyone missing me, just was busy with some real life issues and after the Chuck Norris beatdown my Wolves took I had to re-do all of our offensive settings from scratch.
In any case here is the rundown
Top 2
1. Hollywood Knights(6-0)
Hollywood keeps right on rolling, handling business week in and week out. Their pass rush is consistent and their WR's are still explosive. They have two more important games coming up before they can breath a sigh of relief for a bit and focus on beating Chuck and the Wolves.
Next Three Games: Manlets, Mamertini, C-Knights
2. Chuck Norris(6-0)
Undefeated and cruising, they outlevel everyone in the league and after the beatdown they put on my Wolves a few games back it would be hard to argue that these guys are not the odds on favorites to win it all. I don't think even Vegas would be laying even odds at this point.
Next Three: Minotaurs, Outlaws, Manglers
Still very dangerous
3. Warsaw Wolves(4-2)
Eviscerated the Manlets with the pattened Warsaw combo of big passing plays and getting turnovers on Defense. We are finally scoring like we hoped to at the beginning of the season and looking to avenge themeselves on some teams after a rough start leaves us with some work to do.
Next Three: Gladiators, Bulls, Minotaurs
4. Hague Pirates(5-1)
Has clearly gone from also ran the previous couple seasons to very legitimate contender. When you look at the League leaders page you won't see their players littering it all over but they continue to do just enough to make them nearly unstoppable.
Next Three: C-Knights, Sidewinders, Tigers
A step back
5. Iberian Bocs(4-2)
Suffered a tough loss to Hollywood as their inability to establish a ground game or keep pressure off QB Scott Carrol spelled their Doom. Their early loss to Hague leaves them essentially two games back of Hague for a home playoff game, their opportunity to scrap back into that mix definatly starts this week with a battle against the Mamertini.
Next Three: Mammertini, C-Knights, Sidewinders
6. Milano Mamertini(5-1)
They have won alot of games recently but just came off getting run over by Hague. When I say run over I mean exactly that giving up 250+ yards on the ground. This may have switched from a power running to a passing league over the pass couple of seasons but there are still enough good backs to make you wonder if this is a weakness that other teams will really exploit. They better figure it out soon - their schedule is about to get much tougher.
Next Three: Bocs, Hollywood, Manlets
Growing but need to work out the kinks
7. Vienne Vikings(3-3)
Thier upcoming matchup with the Bulls has me pumped up, this team has come a long way since the beginning of last season and three cheers for Milanese and his fine ownership job. Raif continues to dominate games especially early and if they can put it together for a full season this team could be dangerous come playoff time.
Next Three: Bulls, Minotaurs, Outlaws
8. Misc Manlets(2-4)
Really in dire straights now, their opening of season schedule has been brutal, they have lost something here though too. They are getting flat out beaten and its not getting any easier this week with Hollywood coming to town. Hopefully they can make a playoff run to provide some excitement late and the possibility of another early playoff exit but yikes rough start to the season.
Next Three: Hollywood, Gladiaotrs, Mamertini
9. Pamplona Bulls(3-3)
Still need to show that they can beat a good team. They have taken the first step in showing that they can manhandle the bad ones, now they need to take the next step and "step up" against better competition. They will get their chance against the Vikings this week in a game with playoff implications all over it.
Next Three: Vikings, Wolves, Gladiators
10. Luxemborg Tigers(2-4)
Probably wont make the playoffs this season but if you look at what Regi is building there you have to be able to see a plan coming together. Certainly I think will be the "best of the rest" of the non-contenders and are setting themeselves up as a strong season 7 contender.
Next Three: Outlaws, Manglers, Pirates
Week 7 Games
Game of the Week: Pamplona Bulls vs. Vienne Vikings
Key matchup in this game will be Reif Savarenge DT againt Root3 assination. If the Bulls can move the ball consistently and keep the Vikings offense on the sidelines this one could go their way. I just dont see that happening often enough though and I think this is one that stays close early but goes bad late.
Vikings 34 Bulls 21
Must See TV: Iberian Bocs vs. Milano Mammertini
Oh my ....what playoff implications here. Milano is the hottest team in the league over their past 14 games (12-2) but yeah not so much Iberian is a rugged team and I really see them pounding down the Mamertini in this one and sending them back to reality.
Bocs 54 Mammertini 21
The Late Game: Misc Manlets vs. Hollywood Knights
Manlets have to be getting a litte anxious at this point, their early schedule was absolutly brutal, and this game caps it. They are still a good football team but Hollywood is a great football team and I just dont see the Manlets overcoming that fact.
