HISTORY
Season 2
The first season for a lot of teams here in GLB and USA A4, the good teams this season were the Monmouth Evil Monkeys, the Pewntenheimer Pewnts, the Hammond Bayou Bengals, the Gulf Coast Sharks, Doomsday Sin, and the Superior Grizzlies. The Evil Monkeys and Sin began their rivalry in the A4 championship, both eventually making it up to USA Pro. bearsrule and bhall43 published weekly power rankings. Also here were the Philadelphia Continentals (now of USA Pro), playing as the Knights.
Season 3
bearsrule and bhall's power rankings continued, as a new brash owner named IRuleAll15 appeared on the scene. His New Jersey Devils boasted HB Bobby Winland, and his mouth started writing checks his ass couldn't cash. Doomsday and Monmouth promoted out, but a new juggernaugt from Honolulu named the Hurricane Warriors found its stride and took the championship. Without the restructuring that GLB players take for granted now, the Pewnts, Hammond Bayou Bengals and Superior Grizzlies found themselves in A4 again despite being head and shoulders above everyone else. This was also the season of the Scorpions, who were one of the first well-documented gutted teams in GLB. Their owner JibJabz went inactive and left a shell of a team that got hammered week after week.
Season 4
The Western Conference was still impossibly stacked, as there were more playoff worthy teams than spots. The East featured the Pittsburgh Steel, who avenged losses to the Beaver City Crabs and Pewntenheimer Pewnts by beating those teams in the last two rounds of the playoffs to become A4 champions. Also, the Laredo Lesbians, bottom feeders at the time, came within a fluke fumble of either going to overtime or knocking off the contending LUELinks LUEshis. The game didn't matter much that season, but it set the stage for a bigger rivalry down the road.
Season 5
The Twin Cities Wildcats were the story of this season, finishing 16-0. They were also the story of the postseason, getting upset by the Austin Alcoholics and clearing the playoff path for the Hammond Bayou Bengals to clinch the Western Conference Championship in their final season. The Toronto Turtles dominated the East and finished 20-0, staking their claim as the best team in A4 history after beating the Bayou Bengals for the championship. The restructuring that players across GLB had yearned for finally became reality, and lots of teams went up and down following the season. The New Jersey Mascots were sold to a new owner, as IRuleAll15 ran off with GTALover16 and his tail tucked in between his legs after a controversial trade of Bobby Winland to the Philadelphia Continentals. The Laredo Lesbians rebounded from a 1-6 start to finish 9-7 and miss the playoffs via tiebreaker, but suffered another close defeat to the LUELinks LUEshis, this time missing three shots to the endzone on a drive that could have tied the game.
Season 6
A massive restructuring all across GLB didn't spare A4, and with new faces in the mix, some of the old ones dominated the regular season. The Western Conference featured the Tampa Bay Greyhounds getting off to a hot start before getting knocked off by the Laredo Lesbians, whom themselves finally defeated the LUELinks LUEshis in one of the greatest games in A4 history. However, neither team made it to the conference championship, as Anchorage's Vikings and the Austin Breakers, both in BBB the season before, got to the big game. In the East, the Red Bank Thundercats took the crown after beating the Las Vegas Lightning, who ended the Louisville Baby Kittens' 17-0 season ended prematurely in round 2 of the playoffs. The Thundercats defeated the Austin Breakers for the championship, as BBB reigned supreme in the playoffs.
Season 7
8 teams moved up to AA after season 6, but staying behind were the Laredo Lesbians, who suffered a shocking defeat in overtime in round 1 of the playoffs after finishing 14-2. To prove they deserved to go up, they went 14-2 again, only losing to the Farkistan Squirrels by 1 point, and against the Bridge City Trolls. As BBVD from Laredo put it, "'Token' us, it only makes it more fair". The Trolls defeated the Lesbians twice, 21-6 in the regular season and 33-30 in the Western Conference Championship. A week later, the Trolls captured the A4 championship, defeating the Cleveland Buckeyes 50-33. Also to be remembered this season was the first playoff appearance for the Houston Cougars, a charter member of A4, who overcame early chemistry problems to win 9 games in a row. Other factors in the West included the LUELinks LUEshis, Farkistan Squirrels, Amish Farmers, and Riverhead Blue Waves. In the East, outside of the Buckeyes, the regular season was a battle between the Texas Tarheels and Appalachian Lycans, but the 11-5 Dayton Devil Dogs, previously A4 members in Seasons 2 and 3, upset both to make the Eastern Conference Championship, where their run ended 66-34.
