Sorry I missed the last one guys, but I had a tough weekend.

For game 3, the Swift predictions were 5-3, with Perth teaching old Swift to never pick against them. This brings the Swift predictions total to 11-5.

Game 5 will be an interesting week as we now start to see some of the good new teams play some of the old AA #4 leading teams. The next couple games will show us a lot and could shake up the standings quite a bit.

Devonport Devils (4-0) vs Olden Swillers (3-1)
-----------------------------------------------------------
The scouting bars say Olden is the stronger team. The computer generated predictions pick Olden by 3. Olden is the leader in passing yardage and are 1st with the least passing yardage allowed. Devonport is 2nd in passing yardage and 1st in rushing yardage. Olden is 2nd in making sacks, Devonport is 3rd. Devonport is 1st in making interceptions, Olden is 3rd. Olden is second in forcing fumbles, Devonport is 4th. Olden is 1st in points scored and 1st in least points allowed, Devonport is 2nd in both. So what does all that mean? Nothing. Both have played some whimpy opponents and so their stats are padded. The only thing that matters is who walks off the field with a win tomorrow. It should be a very close battle and could go either way, but in the end, I think the Devils will take the Swillers by 7, 28-21.

Wellington Assassins (4-0) vs. Intergalactic Sub-Mariners (1-3)
-----------------------------------------------------------
Wellington sits tied for first and ready to take the lead all by themselves should the Devils fall to the Swillers. All the Assassins have to do is take care of business with the Sub-Mariners. That will not be difficult to do and so the Assassins will stay undefeated as they beat the Sub-Mariners by a bunch. The Sub-Mariners will have to wait 2 more games to have a shot at a win. Oh, I have to give a number... hum, Wellington by 94 points, 97-3.

Perth Pirates win! I'm not sure who they play yet, but I know that I am picking them to win because they have single-handedly ruined my predicitons both times! Let's see...

Perth Pirates (3-1) vs. Alaska Wild (1-3)
-----------------------------------------------------------
Well, I won't be getting it wrong this time. The Pirates will raid the Anchorage coast and run wild through the streets. I believe that Alaska will see an aerial show that will rank up there with the Northern Lights. Not much else to say about this game other than pick a different one to watch. Pirates plunder the Wild. Perth by 87 in a shutout, 87-0.

Newcastle Mountain Lions (3-1) vs. Hamilton Falcons (2-2)
-----------------------------------------------------------
In a battle of two old AA #4 teams, Newcastle is by far the better team. If I remember right, cosmo pulled a little magic late in the season last year to lead the Falcons to an upset of the Mountain Lions. I don't think that will happen again. dutchboy will have the Mountain Lions ready to maul the Falcons in this revenge match as Newcastle starts to show their strength to the rest of the conference. Newcastle by 24, 27-3.

Sydney Sea Wasps (3-1) vs Chippewa Predators (0-4)
-----------------------------------------------------------
I'm not sure I know what a Sydney Sea Wasp is, but I know what the Chippewa Predators are... lousy. After getting killed by the Assassins, the Sea Wasps can lick their wounds for a couple of games against much inferior opponents. It starts this week, with Sydney by 197, 207-10.

DECATUR STALEYS (3-1) vs. DHARMA Initiative
-----------------------------------------------------------
I CAN PREDICT THAT THIS GAME WILL BE A SHOUTING MATCH AS WE HAVE TWO TEAMS THAT WANT TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE HEARD. DECATUR WILL EASILY WIN THIS MATCH AS THEY SHOW THEY HAVE THE STAMINA TO MAKE IT ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE MATCH, WHILE DHARMA STARTS OUT WITH A ROAR, BUT THEN LOSES THEIR YELL AND FADES AWAY IN THE SECOND HALF, SHOWING VERY LITTLE initiative. IT WON'T TAKE THAT LONG IN THIS GAME FOR DHARMA TO FADE AWAY AS THE STALEYS WILL STRIKE EARLY AND OFTEN. DECATUR WILL ROAR BY 110, 120-10. THANK GOODNESS THAT IS OVER... I WAS STARTING TO GET A HEADACHE!

apia evil (2-2) vs redcliffe sharks (1-3)
-----------------------------------------------------------
after breaking my shift key in the last write-up, i'll have to do this one in a whisper. even though it is early in the season, this is a key game to see who might make one of the last spots in the playoffs. apia needs to win their next 2 games against redcliffe and hamilton to solidify themselves as deserving of a playoff position. while redcliffe needs to knock off teams like apia in order to move up in the rankings. i think it will be a close game, but i think apia will edge out the sharks by a tooth. apia by 3, 24-21.

Newcastle Dream (2-2) vs. Saipan Stingrays (1-3)
-----------------------------------------------------------
The headlines will read, "In a real shocker of an upset, the Saipan Stingrays (CPU) take down the Newcastle Dream." The Stingrays were unable to get a first down, while Newcastle scored 28 points. But unfortunately for Newcastle, they had to punt 5 times and the Stingrays ran each punt back for a TD to win 30 to 28 (because they missed each extra point).... Wake up Newcastle, wake up. It was only a Dream. In reality, Newcastle decides never to punt and wins the game easily. The Dream by 61, 75-14.

Well, that is it for Swift Predictions for Game 5. I'll let you all have the floor now so you can make fools of yourselves and doubt Swift.

I had to correct my geography error.

Well done, as always.

A Sea Wasp is a jellyfish and the third most deadly creature in Austrailia. Not sure it fits us....we are just a bunch of nice guys who don't care about winning and that kind of stuff. We should have been the Sea Stars maybe? or the Sea Shells?

Glad to see you learned not to pick against Perth. However we do love being the underdog.

I'm a little surprised by the prediction of Hamilton being shut down by the Mtn Lions.

Yeah, I'm not sure how I came up with that. It was late, maybe I miss-read the future, but it's written down as my pick, so I'm sticking with it!

Boy, I hope the computer pick is correct and Swillers squeak out on top. We will do our best to hold up our end of the deal.

I am looking forward to tomorrows game. It will be nice to see if we have really turned a corner and are a team to be reckoned with, and will be nice to see if the promoted are as good as advertised. I think both are probably more true than not, so I expect a close game.

Apia is ready to avenge our lost last season to Redcliffe. This is a must win game in our eyes to turn the corner.

Or not. I would bitch about an extra point f'ing this game for us, but my QB sh*t the bed driving for a possible winning score.

I am very disappointed.

Great game Olden. You took it to us hard. 95 yd Pick 6 on our first drive set the tone for the whole game. Congratulations!
