Alright guys. This is the moment you have all been waiting for. Until I get to know some of the A3 n00bs, these may not be as great as last season's, but I'll certainly give you all something to read and flame!
As always, I'm going to start with the most dominant conference in all of GLB, the West
Beavers v. Psychos: The Beavers have a very impressive win streak going, but has yet to play anybody, and week 5 will be no different. The Psychos definitely are not the team of old. Beavers win big!
Redskins v. Aggies: The names say it all folks. We've got a pro style team playing a horrible college team. Redskins are on a roll, and have beat two of the strongest teams from A3's past (and current ), and should treat CS just as badly as Baylor did. Ouch! Did he just bring up some painful memories or what?
Austin v. RR's: Wow! This game will be as one sided as can be! Austin will dominate, no questions asked! Good bounce back game for them!
Death Stars v. Gotham: DS has yet to impress me. They looked pretty good against Austin, but that is really the only game they've played. Sorry guys, but I think Gotham will win this one, but it should be close
MN v. Aces: You know, I'm not too certain about this one. Both teams look to be pretty decent, where MN has played a weak schedule, with their only loss being a total dismantling by an overrated Stoner squad, whereas the Aces have had a little bit of a tougher schedule. I'm going to take a wild guess here, and call the Aces the victor in a shootout!
Portland v. Gamblers: Portland seems to have multiple personalities. They played Austin extremely tough, but got destroyed by Omaha. The other two games were gimme's. So, who will we see here? Honestly, it doesn't really matter! Portland will win this one big!
Hammerheads v. Angels: Luckily for Jersey, the Angels are still out of their leagues, but nowhere near as bad as last season. Hammerheads will get their 2nd victory of the season.
And now, for the game of the day in the West. We've got Omaha v. Syndicate.
In season's past, this game typically went to the team with homefield advantage. Last season, the game got a little out of hand, despite Dolfan's constant talk about the Panthers winning the conference/league. Guess what? He's picked up where he left off. I think, and this is no homer pick, that Omaha will break that streak. With the additions made in the offseason, I just don't see too many losses at all coming. Omaha in a close one!
Now, onto the East, the inferior league
DC v. Shelby: DC gets a nice game to test out some plays, pad stats, or whatever else they want to do. Don't have to be a rocket scientist to pick this one
Cleveland v. Rebels: Cleveland has had a couple of games who could've gone either way. Both games were against dominant teams last season, but not so much early on this season. They win week 5 easily to move to 5-0
Kansas v. Inferno: Kansas is playing better than they have in a long, long time, but haven't really played anybody yet. Week 5 will be different. They will lose, and lose big! Mark my words!
NY v. TN: NY is overrated! They have 3 wins, but have yet to play anybody. TN has greatly improved since the days of being a doormat, and they will show NY they mean business.
Miami v. Tri: On paper, this game looks close, but trust me, TriCity will make sure this isn't. Sorry Miami, but you're out of your league here!
El Paso v. Virginia: El Paso should continue to make some noise in the East as long as they can keep playing teams like Virginia. They have already shown that they can compete with the average to mediocre, but need to prove to the league they are for real. They just won't get that chance against Virginia. Easy win to go 4-1
Stoners v. DSBC: Both teams played exciting games last season, both during reg. season and playoffs. Don't get much closer than this. Both squads are a little down, but Cinci has had their number. I look for Cinci to win a close one
Stallions v. Warbirds: Eeney, Meeny, Miny, Mo. Who's gonna treat who like their ho? Neither team really belong up here. They should be the bottom of the barrel come season's end. Tough one to pick, but Warbirds will get their first W, despite the Stallion's bad ass avatar!
So, there you have it! Those are my picks, and I'm stickin to 'em. Let the flames begin!
