Warfield Hellbringers vs. iue5 acolytes 31-38

The Hellbringers fought a valiant fight against the acolytes of no shift bar but in the end were unable to come away with a victory. Warfield QB Tony Camonte lit it up for over 300 yards and 4 TDs but his 2 picks were costly. iue5's rushing game kept them in it with 208.5 yards on the ground and after taking the lead in the second quarter they never again relinquished it.

Red River Ruminants vs. Natural Born Killers 7-41

14,280 Red River fans screamed as one when Harry Twatters second pass of the game was picked off and run back for a TD by Reginald Beauregard. For a moment it seemed like the Ruminants might pull off the upset. Then reality set in and the Killers rolled off 41 straight points while holding the boys from Red River to just 32.5 through the air.

Nikopolis Stoic Hedonists vs. Heidelberg Hitmen 3-59

The Hitmen jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as they trounced the Stoic Hedonists in blowout fashion. Heidelberg's stud QB Kellen Moore was the standout in the game torching the Hedonist D for 242.5 yds, 4 TDs and an interception.

København Hühnerfalken vs. Brugge Touch 52-7

What's worse than losing at home? Getting blown out 28-7 at halftime. Most of the fans at Demons Stadium left at halftime and the few faithful that remained were treated to an additional 24 points by the visiting team. The leader on offense for the city named after chewing tabacco was WR
Come fly with Me who racked up an impressive 135yds and 3 TDs on his 6 catches.

Stockholm Black Death vs. Torpedo Cowthorpe 44-20

The Black Death ran through the terrified Torpedo Cowthorpes like infected rats through the streets of Europe in the Middle Ages. The game was close at the half with Stockholm leading by 8, but they turned it on in the second half. Running an efficient passing game Stockholm was able to convert a ton of 3rd downs and star cornerback Prime Time Sucka was dominant with 10 passes defended and 6 tackles.

Tilburg Dream vs. Cambridge Chieftains 24-27

Without a question the game of the week was this marquee matchup. The Dream were stymied in the first half as Cambridge pulled out to an early 14-0 lead but Tilburg was able to take the lead in the waning minutes of the 3rd Quarter. Fans were treated to an exciting finish as Cambridge QB Quick Blower hit a pass to Wing Right up the left side for a 43 yard touchdown with only 2 minutes left in the game. Not wanting to drop a game at home Tilburg marched down the field and scored a FG to tie the game up and send it to overtime. The Tilburg Dream received the ball in OT but were unable to drive the field and after a punt and a long Cambridge drive the Chieftains finally put the game away with a game winning 37.5 yd field goal by Kevin Kevins.

Vatican City Fighting Popes vs. Ingolstadt Hat Tossers 31-10

The Hat Tossers looked completely unprepared for the rushing attack of the Fighting Popes as Vatican City cruised to a 31-10 win at home. Buoyed by their league leading special teams the Popes held the ball away from the Hat Tossers with 57 rushes for 341.5 yards. The Ingolstadt defense managed to force two turnovers but couldn't sustain drives and managed only 3.3 yards per rush as the solid Vatican City defense took over.

East Cairo Argonauts vs. Passion Fruits

The fans at The Fruit Stand were treated to a great game by their team as the Passion Fruits put the Argonauts away with a late touchdown on the ground by Minwooktown USA. The Fruits were in control on the ground all game churning out 239 yards on the ground. East Cairo received the ball back late but Basil Mc Rae's pass to Robert "The Surgeon" Taylor was intercepted by Mirana "PotM" Nightshade to put the game away.

Edit: Missed the bottom game.

Fantastic write up thank you.

Cambridge Chieftains certainly expected to lose our game against Tilburg Dream. Our team of almost all level 11's did not on paper match up at all to Tilburg's team of level 16's. Think it was a case of 'any given Sunday' that allowed us to pull this one off.

The recently-renamed Brugge Touch were *really* confused if we lost at home this round...if that's where we were, no wonder they kept scoring!

In other news: After discovering that you only get one team rename before the Admins step in and declare your name joke "unfunny", our owner was last seen fleeing town a half-step ahead of unamused parents. Fortunately, a fast search of his office turned up enough keys to unlock the doors of our new stadium for opening night.
