Well, last game the Swift predictions were 6-2, missing on Wellington and Perth. In the Wellington game, I thought if they could get the pass off quickly enough they could hurt Olden, but in a surprise move, they put on a rushing show. Then they also backed it up with a sack demonstration of their own. In the Perth game, I under estimated the strength of Perth's defense (glad we weren't playing them). I won't do that again - they have earned my respect.

So here we go with a (not so) Swift prediction for game 3.

Devonport Devils (2-0) vs Hamilton Falcons (2-0)
-----------------------------------------------------------
It's likely to be a good battle. Both are have 2 game winning streaks. Hamilton may have been ranked preseason #10, but they have made a strong showing so far this season. They also ended last season by upseting two of the top teams. The Devils offense rolled again and the defense certainly stopped the Run Forest Run chant. While Hamilton has made strong showings, I don't think they have the depth to hang in there in a tough, physical game. Devils by 10, 27 - 17.

Newcastle Mountain Lions (2-0) vs Perth Pirates (1-1)
-----------------------------------------------------------
Well, this is an early season title-type match between the pre-season #1 and #2. The Mountain Lions had the expected cake walk last game, but surprisingly gave up a TD to the CPU Chippewa team. Perth showed me never to underestimate them. Both teams have strong defenses. There will be lots of blood left on the field by the time this one is done. But in a close victory, Newcastle moves to 3-0, while Perth slips to 1-2. Just don't be mislead by Perth's record through 3 games, they will be in the hunt late in the season. Mountain Lions by 3, 24-21.

Sydney Sea Wasps (2-0) vs Alaska Wild (0-2)
-----------------------------------------------------------
This is not a close game as Alaska is just outmatched in every area. The Wild may take a beating this game and fall to 0-3, but they can look for to the next game for their first win. The Sea Wasps get an easy one as the look forward to their next opponent, the Assassins. Sydney by a bunch, 135 - 3.

Wellington Assassins (2-0) vs Newcastle Dream (1-1)
-----------------------------------------------------------
Wellington put a hurtin' on Olden last game and the Dream played Sydney to an even game (ok, I know Sydney that is was not quite even which is why you are 2-0 and they are 1-1). Wellington left Oceania AA #4 last season, but they have come back with a much stronger team. Newcastle is a good team that moved up, but in the end the Dream will have a nightmare this game as the Assassins take them down. Wellington by 13, 33 - 20.

Apia Evil (1-1) vs Chippewa Predators (0-2)
-----------------------------------------------------------
Apia had a dominant showing last game against Alaska Wild. What was expected to be an easy game turned into a route. Chippewa is still looking for their first win, and this ain't going to be it. Apia by 165, 168-3.

Olden Swillers (1-1) vs Intergalactic Sub-Mariners (1-1)
-----------------------------------------------------------
This is a great early clash between two new teams in AA #4 with both teams trying to prove they are the better of the promoted teams. Both teams sit at 1-1 and want to position themselves right behind the leaders with a win in this one. Olden is licking their wounds a little bit after being assassinated last game, while the Sub-Mariners coasted to a very easy (but expected) win. I think the Swillers will step up to redeem themselves and take Intergalactic by 7, 30-23.

Redcliffe Sharks (1-1) vs DECATUR STALEYS (1-1)
-----------------------------------------------------------
Both teams are coming off of difficult loses last game. Redcliffe got pretty well beat up by the Devils and DECATUR was looted by the Pirates. This will be a great battle of one of the old line of AA #4 teams versus the new and brash promoted teams. And in a close match,.... on a winning field goal in the last 2 minutes, the STALEYS pull the upset of the Sharks. DECATUR wins by 3, 24-21.

Saipan Stingrays (0-2) vs DHARMA Initiative (0-2)
-----------------------------------------------------------
In a battle of the winless teams.... can you really call this a battle? It is really who can out underperform the other team to see who loses. Is it possible that they could both leave the game with a loss? In what is sure to be an ugly game, DHARMA will get their first win (of only 2 they will get this season so make sure you enjoy it!). The Initiative by 6, 13-7.

Another set of predictions from Swift the prognosticator. We'll see shortly if any of you were able to change your fate and steal a win that wasn't in your future! Good luck to you all!

Very nice win Perth. I have a feeling that Swift will not be picking against you guys again except for maybe one more game.

Didn't need the field goal. We did one hell of a job up front. Mad props to Rohn Jiggens.
