CASABLANCA (RR) -- The Richmond Raiders have found their groove and completed their second blowout win this season, a 63-7 thrashing of the Casablanca White Houses. Richmond dominated nearly every facet of the game and was able to put this game away in the first quarter. The offense compiled a staggering 648.5 yards and the defense held the White Houses to a modest 136.5 yards.
"It's great to be a part of these types of games," said QB Khari Jones who threw for 374.5 yards and 3 TD's. "You get to try out a lot of different plays that normally wouldn't be afforded to you in a close game, and some of the young guys and backups get a chance to be on the field."
For the Raiders the backups produced in some cases as much as the starters.
The running game for instance featured 2 backs that went over 125 yard each. Admiral Sandecker had 126.5 yards and 3 TD's while Stormin' Norman Whitley had 146 yards and a score. FB Flip Eerbe also punched one in from the goal line.
"Once again a great push by the offensive line opened up the running lanes," said Sandecker. "We are fortunate to have arguably the best offensive line in the league and I think each and every one of them could start in the Pro Leagues and make a huge impact. They are a group that solidifies the foundation of this offense and what it wants to do."
The Raiders were able to do what they wanted on the defensive side as well.
They forced Casablanca into a paltry 68 rushing yard and 68.5 passing yards. QB LeoNeL De Rossi was harassed the entire game by the likes of Speed McLovin and Phuck Mizzou, as the defense tallied 9 hurries, 5 sacks, and just over a 25% completion for De Rossi.
"We just had our way with their offensive line," said McLovin who finished with 3 of the 5 sacks the Raiders accumulated. "They were not able to seal off the edge and the quarterback was unable to step up away from the pressure. I think it's a testament to how well we're playing that we can force this sort of pressure and see this much of a result."
The Raiders will look to continue the same result next game against the Rwanda Assassins. The Assassins are 1-1, but feature a myriad of talent across the board. QB Ernie McCrackin has a 127.1 rating and thrown for 9 TD's and only 1 interception.
The Raiders will certainly have their hands full next week and will need another tremendous performance from both the offense and defense to earn another win.
