A lot of new faces around this season. Anyone have any predictions as to who they think will take it all? Who will come out of nowhere to surprise us? Who's already looking at relegation before the season has started?

You said it in your first sentence. Too many new faces -- I don't think I could make a prediction if I tried. WoC would probably predict each team's record with 96% accuracy, and then pick the league champ for good measure, but I'd just be throwing darts.

Yeah it's been pretty quiet without WoC's posts. I miss those game predictions already. Someone needs to take up the weekly rankings mantle soon.

WOC never got started with those until game 4 or 5 anyway as you need plenty of info before you can run the programme and get accurate (relatively) predictions/rankings.

I predict no one will go unbeaten this season, thats the best I can manage given the lack of knowledge about the new guys.

I don't see anyone going unbeaten Alpha either. There should be a tighter playoff race this season and I predict we're going to see at least the last 6 spots coming down to the final 2 games.

It's definitely harder to scout the new guys when you don't really have any comparative data to go against. Some teams look tough but that could have been the competition in a lower level.

Game 1 out of the way - shame about the gutted teams, tough to learn anything from games like that.

That's the most I've seen a team pass - 103 attempts.

Looks like Zeta took 9 out of 16. Good game Judah. You guys had a strong 1st half and it went down to the wire. 14 points in the 4th quarter got us out of there with the win.

Several gutted teams within the League, tough to scout and also several games to run up stats. There are about 6 teams that I think could walk away with the number one seed in the Alpha. The favorite has to be Eurothrash at this point because of their history and talent, however there are some other tough teams that would like to have a say in who finishes at the top. Should be a battle for everyone this season, Good Luck to all!!

We're delighted with our win over Oslo. We wont face too many teams that tough the rest of the season.

They are definitely one of 3-4 teams I see taking the #1 spot. WCW, Whitechapel, Oslo, Southampton and Massillon could make a good push to the playoffs as well. And of course I'm hoping PGL makes a good run at the playoffs as well. I'm also looking forward to seeing how Donegal and Rome perform in the division. They looked like good squads on paper.

it would be great to see all the teams in with a chance of the play offs with a couple of games to go.

heh.... as for the Hammer's first game my DC thought we had another Scrimmage =) Not making excuses or anything. When he told me that I could do nothing but laugh =)

i think it's going to be tight all season.

It really is to bad about the gutted teams but not much to be done about it now.

Yes, I am the moron who thought we had another scrimmage game and had a test defense in there.

It worked out OK for the most part. It was the offenses fault we did not win... Yeah that's the ticket!

I can say from looking at the teams the older who were in AA have the advantage.

With the new options on offense and the new options on defense, it is like starting all over again...

Scouting what were/are effectively an entie league of playoff teams with little to no history is going to make thing difficult on everyone.
You guess the game plan wrong and your team could be in for a VERY long day.

It should make for a fun season!
