I'm a successful 26 year old professional. I've been in a really difficult situation with my ex-girlfriend, one who I'm still very much in love with. We have everything in common and dated happily for a year and a half. Unfortunately, the company she started with her family came to eat up more and more of her time, and her attention toward me. I became third priority behind the business, and her brother.

It was so good, and I know it still could be, but we broke up after we became bitter at each other, myself, because I wanted more of her in our relationship, and she, because she couldn't deal with my demands. I wouldn't say I'm a needy person, but I did want to feel like I was in a relationship.

Each time we talk or spend time together, my love for her is replenished, and although I'm almost positive it's the same for her, she refuses to even suggest it might be worth it to try it out again. All she's said is 'it just didn't work'. The last thing I want to do is ask her why she wouldn't entertain the idea, but I'm almost positive it's the pressure of her work and her family and the influence everyone else's perceptions of our relationship have on her.

On a final note, this past weekend we messed around a little bit though there was no sex, no kissing, and no evidence of it between us the next day. It happened twice. This weekend, she's coming over to watch the Dallas-Giants game. I like Dallas +8.5, is that a good bet?

It's a tough one. And you should never listen to jacklegs on the internet. But I have had many many girlfriends. I have been in the situation where I wanted "it" to be more than she did. And not once did it work out.

When she says "it didn't work" to me means it's done... but we can remain civil. I would not count on it ever working out. Your best bet is to cool it and play along with the apparent "friend" role she is playing. And if you can score booty on the side... do it. You have no strings to her anymore it sounds. Maybe down the road when you guys are "hanging" out enjoying friendship, work migh slow down and you can get more involved.

I know it's cliche' but it's so true that the more you want... the less your chance. Play it cool... not that you have a choice... and let things go how she wants. Don't push or even question the relationship. Let her decide... again you don't have a choice... and pushing or questioning will only make it worse.

And Giants will cover imo

Hey, that was big of you to answer, Godzirra, and I appreciate it. But my question was just about the bet.

Now you could do what I do... kill her, cut her up, stick her in the freezer... and she'll be with you forever... at least til there is a power outage and she thaws.
