Someone could potentially have 10 wins and miss the playoffs. I figured I would point this out because there isn't a whole lot of leagues where the eigth seed would even have 9 wins much less a team with 10 wins very possibly be out of the playoffs. Tough luck to all the teams in alpha because I think the only teams that have secured a playoff spot, and not necessarily home field, are Amsterdam and Arkham and possibly Palermo.

I couldn't agree with you more. When I look at Zeta schedules and results, I get the impression that the top teams there really only have to be seriously worried about 4 teams this season.

In Alpha, the top teams are at risk of losing to pretty much every game.

I think the league stats bear this out.

Are the HBs in Zeta really the best?

OR

Do they get to play against softer defenses week in and week out?

I tend to believe the latter.

It is possible that every team that makes the playoffs has 11 or more wins in Alpha while a team with a sub .500 record makes the playoffs for Zeta....

How it plays out is that Zeta has three main groups...top 5 middle 6 and bottom 5....where as Alpha has three but it breaks down much different...top 9 middle 6 and bottom 1.....

Arizona who is a one win team in alpha is a higher average level than Hague who is a 8 win team in Zeta and well I understand that there are other factors that play into a team other than average level it should not mean a 7 win difference through 13 games....

alpha dominates! bottom line. though playoffs will tell all.

and of course alpha has the best RB's! ill put mine up against anyones.

is pretty crazy though that some quality teams could miss playoffs in alpha

So far the only thing I've read is reasons why you guys are going to blame the AI for screwing up if an Alpha team loss occurs in the playoffs.

While it is apparent that Alpha is dominant, touting this around week after week is doing nothing. Let's look at some of the reasons why Alpha is so dominant over Zeta.

The first and foremost... the teams on average are higher average level. Nothing wrong with it, just a fact. And while it's true that being higher average level does not mean you're going to win by default (see some of Hagues past 'upsets' of others) it does give you an advantage.

Secondly, Alpha is better because it has fewer gutted/patsy teams. Hate to say it, but there is no way that anyone will consider Zeta a good conference with four or five gutted teams that people cakewalk through. And as we're all aware, the fix for this is coming.

So... instead of sitting there spouting off and shooting from the hip how Alpha is better than Zeta, how about you do something constructive, and perhaps offer yourselves up for some scrimmage games? I'd like to see a few friendly inter-conference scrimmages.

And in case you missed it, I agreed that Alpha is a dominant conference. But the only thing you guys are doing by spouting this off time and time again is showing that you're going to go crybaby if you guys lose. We know you have some whiners already..

What good would scrimmage games do?

We could have 8 teams beat the Crocodiles and then the Corcodiles would just say that they didn't gameplan and didn't care.

If we have middle of the pack teams that defeat some of your higher seeds on week 16, I expect to hear about how they didn't care because they already had their seeds locked and didn't want to reveal their gameplans.

EDIT: I see no incentive to offer scrimmages against Zeta teams. I don't really feel like I need to prove that we are better. I KNOW Alpha is better. If Zeta wants to prove that their teams are good, perhaps they should be issuing some challenges...

The sad thing is the CPU teams in Western Europe will be sent down to A, so the teams that don't get promoted in the big changed this offseason will be stuck down here with a bunch of former CPU/gutted teams.

In the end though there is no debate Alpha is better then Zeta. Anyone that thinks different is either in Zeta or an idiot. Probably both.

EDIT: I can't believe I just agreed with Tito. I don't know whether to puke or cry

From reading Bort's idea, nobody unless you are in Pro Leagues is guaranteed to remain in the same region let alone leagues. It appears IMO nobody is promised to stay in WE regardless of level. Just my opinion and I may be wrong.

after rereading what Bort said, I ma probably sure I am wrong about leaving WE....it does appear he is only talking about changing leagues in the region you are in currently. So that mean Dresden will make the WEPL next season maybe. lol...probably not, but we are kicking ass...err ahhh mena smakin' that ass

Ya, no one is switching region. If you read the post i'd have to imagine that there will only be 6-7 teams from this league moving up.

I doubt that many tbh.

There are too many A leagues. I'd bet only 3-4 teams get promoted.

So next year, we should be looking at Zeta having 1 or 2 teams worth the air they breathe, and Alpha still having 5 or 6.

The question isn't why Alpha is better than Zeta, or what we can do to prove this; but rather why the fuck do any of you care? Playing in a competetive leauge is more fun than playing in a leauge where 3/4th's of the teams aren't great. Everyone knows that Alpha's dots on the field have a higher average level than Zeta's dots on the field, so like someone else said above the only reason anyone would point this out is to make excuses for why they can't hang in their leauge. If this is a problem, drop all your games until you end up in a leauge that's better suited for you.

Be quiet. Grown ups are speaking.

There are no leagues to drop to.

And actually, I can hang in my league. I am making excuses for why a team thats good but not great, like the Crocodiles, looks like a worldbeater.

Also, you Zeta people. You want to know why we have higher average levels?

We HAVE to bring in bigger players if we want to compete in our league. We can't just trot teams full of whatever out there. You won't be successful in Alpha like that.

If you want to read this like its excuses, thats fine. I notice that the Alpha teams aren't full of challenges by you Zeta teams yet.

I outright refuse to issue challenges.

If you want me to believe that your conference is worth a $%^&, bring it on the field. You issue the challenge, then you can't say that you didn't care about it.
