My offensive tactics and AI were screwed up. They were set to punt downs 1-4 for the game against Grand Haven Mist. I feel I had been sabotaged by my former OC.

The guy I had with the only OC powers on this team is now an another team I traded him to. I had forgotten to remove him from his GM duties because I was so busy making moves.

I have a LB on that team. My LB was benched the past two games for no reason. He's doesn't even have access to the Forums I cant even send the owner a PM.

This is really shady. My player did nothing wrong, he was a starter, now he's not even on the DC.

rbain's player is on that team now. He's not starting on that team either.

I think something seriously shady happened. It sucks too because our offensive AI was really screwed up for the past game or two. I think we could have beaten Grand Haven Mist.

You can look at our Friendlies, we had been losing those and the offense had sputterd. Our last two games our offense was shut out, and we have never been shut out.

Damn I have no proof, but if you put two and two together there is something not right here.

Either way, we lost, but I feel we could have pulled an upset or at least been competitive if it weren't for my settings being screwed up.

Funny thing about that, I actually took the time to look through your games. There wasn't anything shadey when it came to your Punts.

You guys just got rocked, simple as that.

I want to preface this by saying I do have a lot of respect for you, futuregm - the team you currently own is the team that I was in charge of season 2 and 3, and when I left the team went into the toilet, to be sold, gutted, and left for dead after season 4 (I think that had something to do with me taking over Spicewood, but that's irrelevant to this discussion). I admire the effort you've put in to rebuilding that team.

However, I have several issues with your charge of sabotage.

Issue 1: I don't think you could have beaten Grand Haven, regardless of your tactical settings - they have a ferocious defense and while you have an underrated QB in Jay Cutler, I don't think he has the supporting cast necessary to overcome a defense like the Mist.

Issue 2: Your charge is that your former OC changed your tactics to punt on downs 1-4. If he did try to sabotage you, looking at the game log it appears he was unsuccessful. My cursory glance of the play by play showed no 1st, 2nd, or 3rd down punts by your team. If he did set it up to punt that way, he would have had to move the Input to the top of the AI to actually make you do that. As it is, you seem to have only punted in punting situations, created by the fact that you were playing an excellent defense. In short, whether you were sabotaged or not, it didn't matter. You were blanked, plain and simple.

Issue 3: You are the owner of the team, yet you appear to have only made this discovery today, 2 days AFTER the game in question. I have a great deal of respect for the job you've done with the Bombers, but you should have caught that a bit earlier.

Issue 4: If rbain did in fact try to sabotage you, he is a douchebag of the highest caliber. However, there's nothing I can see to convince me that he did do that, and his mistreatment of your player is between you and him - anyway, what are those of us on the A7 forum meant to do about it?

Well being a new owner, I am very green to the Tactics and AI setting. I just hired a new OC. And he has advised me that the setting were really messed up. Energy was set a 97 and 1 or something crazy. And my AI was screwy. Either way, I hadn't been shut out all season until the past two games, where the offense absolutely sputtered. Who knows what happened, but I know something happened. You are probably right, I may not have beaten GHM, but I know something was different and it will be almost impossible to prove.

I'd have to agree with rj...nothing looks fishy in the outcome....either for your offensive settings and punt.

GHM plays an aggressive defense that thrives on forcing turnovers and scoring on the defensive side when possible. You had 1 turnover and limited GHM to only 4 sacks, impressive effort really...but your offense failed to move the ball.

Biggest problem appeared to be on the defensive side of the ball where you could not stop GHM running game, which accounted for 612 yards on 67 carries (9.1 ypc).

You're going to have 3 more tough games before getting back to the competition you are competitive with...or actually out-level completely.

You'll get to your 7-9 record, but I don't see anything fishy in the results at this point....

Oh I forgot to say THANK YOU for giving me Kudos to the hard work I have done.

I have a simple explanation for this. Your team is not as good as the Mist. If we played you 50 times, we would win 50 times. Quit whining and take a note from the Mist. This has been a long way coming for us, and we are finally a playoff caliber team.

I actually have a lot of respect for the rebuilding job you've done, I know it's very hard work to rebuild a team like you have.

I also understand that if you go based on levels and the matchup page that the two teams look pretty similar. We don't look that tough but we've been fortunate enough to put together a group with about 50 different GM trophies if you add them up.

Meaning these are agents that really know what they're doing with their players and luckily that along with good tactics have made a big difference for us this season, so we do tend to play above what you might expect from us

I only have this to add.

Valhalla has done an outstanding job in building this team. He is a shining example of perseverance. Kudos Bro!

Yeah, well if I hadn't botched it the first time I wouldn't have had to do it all over again, it took two seasons but we're getting there

P.S. I already warned the Banzai guys about the Bikini Atoll/Guadalcanal doubleteam threatening to come up, take it easy on our Fire Eaters tomorrow man

Any move you make will not only incur a chem hit, but a double chem hit - it's intended to discourage teams with players on teams that aren't making playoffs from 'loaning' them to teams that will make playoffs.

However, as you said, you are basically out of playoff contention, so in your case it may be worth it. When your chem is below 70 it refills at a faster rate, so if you tank it now to make upgrades it should refill considerably by the time season 6 starts.
