It seems my OT "Experimental Build" is doing well in the D leagues. I am trying to make a pass blocker.

The thing is...it doesn't seem that most people do anything really different...the same old "Blocking and strength to first soft cap..."

Here is my build (which is open to all):
1. Soft capped strength
2. Soft capped agility
3. Train the hell out of my speed while getting vision to soft cap.
4. Get speed to 30 and then train confidence.

Here is the really EXPERIMENTAL THING:
I passed over some advanced gear for FIRST STEP but it got me thinking. If an OT had high strength and agility and pumped the Shock Block SA...then FIRST STEP will help get to the DE faster. Basically not get beat on the snap.

Here is a good DE build:
Has soft capped speed agility and vision...ussually very weak compared to O-line.

I am trying to match his agility and vision and use my strength to overpower the DE. THe thing that suffers...blocking. I think that blocking is HIGHLY overrated in this game. Agility seems to trump blocking nowadays. The good thing, is when I get everything else I mentioned to the second soft cap, i will have some room to improve my blocking once my player hits level 28ish.

I will keep you updated, but the choice to soft cap agility and strength before blocking has been working.

The big thing is, what do you think about FiRST STEP for an O-lineman?

Let us know how not having blocking works out. It will be an interesting experiment.

For me, if I am facing a D line with 80+ agility, I feel you need to counter it with 80+ blocking, and your own agility is fine lots and lots of points below this.

The D-league is not a good indicator of anything. Once you get into a real league against equal competition you'll see how effective your build is.

Its open now. I forgot that i switched it a while back when i went to a real team.

I haven't been beat yet. Every sack was from the other linemen...the ones with 20 more blocking than me.

If all you needed was strength and blocking to not give up sacks....then it would be really easy to build an o-lineman. just keep pumping the strength and blocking. I think bort has seen that and he is making guys like granite statues that you can run around.

Haven't given up a sack yet.

wait until you go up against higher level players and still give up no sacks then I'll create an OT like yours.

^^Oh, I am sure that if my level 13 OT build went against a level 28...I would get handed. THats a no brainer. But when I am level 28 and I go against other guys within 5 or 6 levels of me, I will come out on top. I am one of the lowest leveled OTs in my league. I didn't say that did I? Sorry if I wasn't clear on that one.

First its "go in a real league against equal competition." Check, I am doing really well.

Now its "Go against higher level players than you are"...ok, anyone who GMs an AA league team want to sign me so I can go against level 28 guys
