With the number of speed/agility based DE's, has anyone had success with putting 6+ points into shock block?

My thinking is that an OT with a natural 60/60 str/block and 48 spd/agil might have a good chance of stopping DE's by using Shock Block. Since it reads it works best against weaker opponents, the DE's that are coming out with 60+ in speed, agility and vision might not have a 60+ in strength.

Anyone have success with this?

My LOT is level 19 w/ level 6 in all pass SA's playing against higher level competition. He doesn't get beat, and his strength is around 30 and rising. I'm not sure if shock block helps on its own, but I think the whole SA tree as a package does.

My problem with the SAs is that they are necessarily limited in such a way that they're only effective against a subset of opponents. If only half the opposing DEs in my conference have 50 or thereabouts, strength, I don't know if it's worth loading up on shock block if mine was only say 65.

To be honest, Shock Block seems like the best possible counter to speed DEs.

On those plays, can you be sure the OT is actually getting a hand on the DE? Maybe they are getting around them untouched?

It's almost like you can see the DE swim/rip move working against an OT.

This is my DE where it seems to work:
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=178047&pbp_id=4900276
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=178047&pbp_id=4901979
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=177978&pbp_id=6576650

Anyway, it doesn't look like he's getting around them untouched, but is ripping and swimming his way past the OT. I'm not necessarily worried about the DE that runs around the OT untouched, but it's that swim move or whatever thats concerning. In the 2nd clip, it looks like the OT gets taken and then just sits their like he's stunned.

Anyway, I'm still working my OT's speed up, so it'll be a little while before I invest in SA's. But I do think shock block might work well.

All DEs nowadays are speed guys. Shock block is the way to go.
