I'm finally able to update the rankings a bit, but there isn't a whole ton of movement. The better teams have won pretty consistently. But, here it is:
Team/Record/Last Week
1) Cheyenne Mountain Air Force/10-0/1
Were challenged this past game by Halifax but they pulled out the victory. This next game against Nebraska should be a great game; if they get past Nebraska with a win, look for them to go undefeated during the regular season. They've only allowed 6 passing TD's through the air, tied for 3'rd best in the league.
2) Vinland Vikings/10-0/2
Has A 6's #1 passing offense, beating out #2 by over 700 yards. They still have challenging games against the Sasquatches, Beavers, and Thunder, so going undefeated will be quite a challenge. And don't think running on them will work...they have the leagues #2 rush defense, allowing an average of 30.9 yards/game.
3) Saskatchewan Beavers/9-1/3
Leads the league in rush yardage and attempts, and is second in average and TD's. Their next two games against Revelstoke and Vinland should be great games to see. Their game against QC to end the season will be a great cross-conference game.
4) Saskatchewan Sasquatches/9-1/4
Their next four games include match ups against Hillsburgh, Revelstoke, and Vinland...giving them a very tough remaining schedule. #13 rush attack and #7 pass attack gives them a balanced offense, but they've only given up 12 passing TD's total.
5) St. John's Salty Dogs/9-1/5
A6's #3 Rush offense and they've only given up 3 TD's on the ground. Like him or not, Duce is #3 in the league in rush yards...but he trails #2 by just under 1000 yards. The lone challenge on the remaining schedule is the Lone Star Caballeros, so expect them to finish 15-1.
6) Hillsburgh Hillbillies/8-2/6
They've lost to the #2 and #3 teams, but they have remaining games against #4 Sasquatches and #8 Cold Lake. At worst they'll finish 12-4. Their offense relies more on their #5 rated rush attack, but they're not bad at throwing the football either.
7) Queen City Black Cats/8-2/8
Very balanced offense with the #4 pass attack and #4 rush attack, and they lead the league in rush defense allowing a measly 21.8 yards/game. Has two remaining challenges against Lone Star and the Beavers.
8) Cold Lake Wolverines/7-3/7
Don't really stand out in any offensive or defensive category, but they're solid all around. Their last remaining tough game is against Hillsburgh, and that should be a heck of a game. The question for them will be: Can they pull of some upsets in the playoffs against teams that beat them in the regular season?
9) Nebraska Husker Maniacs/7-3/9
A team that has traditionally relied on the pass is still good at it. They have the leagues #3 pass offense, and their pass defense is pretty solid too, giving up only 6 passing TD's, tied for 3'rd in the league. Have two remaining tough games, against Cheyenne and Halifax.
10) Revelstoke Revolution/7-3/13
Six straight wins has them back in the thick of things, but their upcoming schedules is brutal: Beavers, Thunder, Sasquatches, and a ending game against Halifax, which should be a great game. #6 pass offense and #8 run offense keeps this team rolling.
11) Halifax Hashishim/7-3/10
They've lost 3 out of their past 5 games, but they're still a very good team. Can't wait to see how they play against Nebraska, and the last game against Revelstoke should also be good. Their most impressive stat in my opinion: They've only given up 2 rushing TD's.
12) The Lone Star Caballeros/7-3/14
#2 rushing team and they average 9.7 yards/carry thanks to their stud HB Bukka Moore. Problem is, their passing offense leaves something to be desired. With remaining games against run-stuffing teams QC and St. John's, will they find enough offense to pull them out?
13) Flint Tropics/7-3/15
They made a statement beating Iqaluit 52-17, but they're still a notch below the elite teams in the East. Remaining games against Halifax, Nebraska, and Vinland will most likely be losses.
14) Calgary Thunder/6-4/12
Similar to Flint, they seem to be a notch below the elite. With remaining games against Revelstoke, Vinland, and Lone Star, they'll have to pull off an upset or two to make the playoffs.
15) Iqaluit Arctic Wolves/7-3/11
Their remaining schedule only includes one cupcake: Kelowna. Expect this team to slip down the rankings over the next several weeks.
16) Ballina Big Prawns/5-5/22
A four game win streak has this team back in the thick of things in the East. They still have two more easy games, but they'll have to pull of an upset or two to make the playoffs.
17) In San Jose Pimpin Aint Easy/4-6/20
A classic mid-level team, but they only have 3 more easy games, so reaching the playoffs will be difficult.
18) Saskatoon Shredders/5-5/16
After starting 5-1, they've lost four straight. They have three more winnable games, and they'll have to win all of them to reach the playoffs.
19) New Orleans Ghost Riders/4-6/17
If they win four games and Saskatoon wins 3 like I expect, they'll squeak into the playoffs based off a 7-6 week three victory over the Shredders.
20) Barkmere Bulldawgs/4-6/18
Slow build team that plays well for their level...they're just too low to really compete this season.
21) Toronto Smoke/3-7/19
At least KS has his own team to be proud of. They give good effort, but chemistry and lower levels hurt them.
22) Jeanland Jeaniacs/3-7/23
Best of the really bad teams.
23) Calgary Wrestlers/2-8/21
Second best of the really bad teams.
24) Bloodweiser Bugle All Stars/2-8/24
Hey, they won two games this year! Woohoo! They might even win another against Portsmouth.
25) Ottawa Black Wolves/2-8/28
Team is in debt and I don't expect them to be around A6 much longer.
26) Portsmouth Cavaliers/2-8/25
Most of the real life players have left, leaving a CPU team that is not impressive.
27) Kelowna Outlaws/2-8/26
Surprise!! Say hello to the #2 passing team in A6. For as bad as this team is, at least they've got that going for them.
28) Manitoba Icemen/2-8/27
Still a shame they were gutted.
29) Peterborough Preachers/1-9/31
Slowly making progress.
30) The Hundredth Meridians Road Apples/1-9/29
They're just bad.
31) Quebec Boreal/0-10/30
They're just worst.
32) Castlegar Crusaders/0-10/32
They are just THE worst.
