Alpha Game of the Week:

Phuket Water Dragons at Pontianak Firebirds:
These tow teams are middle of the pack and both jousting for better playoff position. Both teams improved their postseason chances with big wins last week, and whoever takes this game will be in even better shape. Water and Fire in a struggle of supremacy. Phuket keeps it close, but the Firebirds soar away late with the win. FIREBIRDS by 7

------

Manila Cyberballers at Krungthep Garudas:
Manila gets their balls kicked out of the intertubes, as the Garudas engage shutdown mode. Cyberballers hang tight for a quarter, then roll to a stop. GARUDAS by 21

Mongolian Horde at Salford Storm:
Rain, wind, thunder and lightning isn't going to be nearly enough to slow these guys down. Horde shows the difference between teams that can make the playoffs, and teams that can win the playoffs. HORDE by 17

Algeria Addiction at Padang Lightning:
Gutted or not, Padang Lightning was never going to win this game. Addiction picks up what's left of the pieces and breaks them even more. ADDICTION by 35

Ho Chi Minh Hookers at Cambodia Mountain Men:
This would be a big win for the up and coming Mountain Men, and they're more than capable of getting it. Hookers play hard to get, but Cambodia's persistence pays off. MOUNTAIN MEN by 9

Columbus Black Knights at Mount Fiji Dogs:
What would have been almost certain defeat turns into victory for the lucky Dogs of Mount Fiji. A once strong Black Knight team is sadly just a remenant of it's former self. DOGS by 17

Tibet Psychonauts at Hiroshima Radiation:
The Psychonauts enjoy a nice Japanese picnic during their bye week. Enjoy boys! PSYCONAUTS by 35

AFEF Hooligans at Pingree Grove Pits:
The lovable pitbulls bite the asses off the young Hooligans. AFEF is going to need some stiches and a new pair of underwear. PITS by 28

Added Bonus! Mongolian Horde Interview - Part 2

In your opinion, who are your top three players on Offense?

1) Rear End has to be right up there, the man is a freak of nature that spawned from eaglesfan20, great scientific geniusness, I knew when the horde sent eaglesfan20 back to college we were making the right choice.
2) Slippery jackson utilizes the pancake syrup the lineman apply before every game to avoid tackles.
3) Offensive line, all weigh over 400 lbs. as they eat pancakes and the state of the art IHOP recently installed at Mongolian Stadium.

Top three players on defense?

Dan Tracey - Great in coverage and also on covering the outside run "The Colonel" . He was nicknamed this by Our offensive for knocking their helmets off during scrimmages, know they are all "chicken" go figure.
Rolling Black Outs DE. What can you say Sacks galore, 40+ Tackles on a good defense.
Joo Got No Skillz. Shutdown corner for the last 3 seasons. 6 Int this season is not too bad I hear.

Most overlooked/underrated player on the team?

J.P. This guy gets the tough yardage when it counts, my hat comes off to him, we hope he wants to stay with the team for a long time to come.

Most hyped/overrated player on the team (if any)?

Jvillian, the man demands 10 stacks of pancakes every morning to be delivered via limo, not just any limo its got to be brown and Antja Mima has to be driving.

Have the Horde ever had any internal drama, like some of the other teams have? Anyone ever been kicked off the team? left in anger? or benched for long periods of time? If so, what are the juicy details?

We have a policy on our team that presuades this not to happen. Basically if someone wants to leave they give the gms 2 games time to find a home suitable to the team and them and we trade them, we also have a internal sausage eating contest to settle inside disputes, all people have to out eat team champion "Splat Lookin' Boy" and trust me the boy can eat. No seriously, for most part we have been lucky in this matter.

We have a good team spirit and any sign of a bad apple gets traded/released.

Most admired team the Horde have ever faced (could be a team from prior seasons)?

I dont know about most admired, But I respect the Addiction alot for owning us past 3 seasons yearly (twice last season)
This year I respect all the top 8 teams, and any of them can win alpha this year.

Which current team in the league do you guys think is the most challenging to beat?

SF Gold Rush and Addiction.

Which team(s) strike you as most improved? who are the up and comers, that maybe you didn't worry about before but are starting to close the gap on you?

Mountain Men, and while im on the subject shave that hair off before you come into Mongol Stadium.

Who is more retarded? the Garudas or Voltron?

Voltron hands down, but retarded in a good way, Rawr Rawr is a beast, and I have a great deal of respect for the Garudas.

Has the team ever been embarrassed in a game? Which performance are you least proud of?

Embarrassed
Season 3 L 0-19 vs Addiction.

least proud
Season 5 W 216-0 vs Hiroshima.

We had our starters cleaning the stadium bleechers @ end of the first quarter.

The Cambodia/Ho Chi Minh game will be an interesting matchup that will be a preview of what will probably eventually be a playoff game between these two. It's possible that the winner of this game will be the team that gets home-field advantage in that theoretical future matchup.

Great work as always, fool.

Great work as usual! Overrated? Are you saying I'm the Warren Sapp of the o-line?

As for the limo and my pancakes, Fed-Ex took too long.

7-1 this week, with the CPU-controlled Black Knights showing they still have some fight in them.
