Several interesting results from week 5.

1. Tokyo came very, almost heartbreakingly close to their first win before a very good Shanghai team scored a late TD.

2. Pacific's big win over Haiphong makes me even more (if possible) concerned about our game with them on Wednesday. Their offense is a juggernaut.

3. We beat Manila, which takes a little pressure off of us (I was worried I was going to have to start looking for another line of fake work). The game was much closer than the score would indicate, as turnovers killed them (we took an INT and fumble recovery back for TDs). Still, they are a very good, much improved team and are definitely not one that we'd like to see again this season.

4. Granted, it was against the Team Formerly Known By Two Other Names, but Taipei continues to look very much improved and a real threat for a high playoff seed.

To be honest if I were you Id be more worried about the Tsunamis defence than their offense for the simple fact that they keep your defence on the field long enough that no matter how you game plan your stamina is going to be shot. We have one of the best pass offenses in the league and the Tsunamis held us to under 300 yards.

Not to take away from their O of course because we all know how good their running game is, but early on we were doing quite well against them. Once the stamina was gone though we had no chance. Id be very worried about the same happening even to you guys.

If we (the hellfighters) keep up this lousy play we may be relegated down a league. Very Frustrating!!

Emp, trust me, I'm worried about the whole package. Fortunately, we've got a home game and so plan on watering down the field to make it tougher for them to run.

Bear drinking babies really went to town on us. I'll have a look at game plan later but that should have been way closer!

I wouldn't worry about the game as saying anything about the big picture quality of your team, jjoshi. There was a lot of it that was quite flukey, and you've got a whole bunch of very good players.

We had one of those stat padding type games. I guess you can use these to fine tune scheme. They aren't worth much more than that.

I think the real value of the stat padding-type games is that it lets you get your backups lots of plays and gives the owner/GMs a day or two break from GLB.

It's hard to trust any new tactics you try against teams like that, b/c it's such a different experience from facing the good teams.

I think a lack of depth killed us a tad in the later stages, plus our CB's got beat a few too many times! Got a new addition coming in tomorrow though to add extra strength! Also missing tim melka at OT, he was immense last season!
