Prince George's Kings 4-0 @ Edmonton Magicians 0-4
PGK keeps rolling and looks forward to a match up next week against Moose Jaw that could have major home field and playoff seeding implications. This week, they keep rolling.
Kings 85 Magicians 0
GOTW 1*Northern Lights 4-0 @ Saulte Ste. Marie Silver Bullets 4-0
A huge match up for both teams trying to prove themselves. The Lights went out and made the Magicians look like they haven't even started rebuilding their team yet last week, ouch! The Silver Bullets took care of business against an ok Thunder Bay Huskies team. With the exception of the Silver Bullets opening game against Grim, neither team has faced a team that will make the playoffs. That leaves me with little statistics worth delving into. The Lights have looked ridiculous and I went so far as to say that they could be the team to beat. The Bullets should be very proud of the team they've built so quick, but this will be a reality check for them.
Lights 56 Silver Bullets 17
GOTW 2*Grim Afterlife 3-1 @ San Diego Rockstars 3-1
We certainly pulled a front loaded schedule this season with our 4th straight probable playoff team that we face off against. Grim is very solid and I'm looking forward to a good game. GL Afterlife!
Moose Jaw Jackalopes 3-1 @ Atlanta Flash 1-3
Moose Jaw rebounded last week by punishing the Yetis and really demonstrating the disparity between the top teams in the league and the mid-tier ones. Atlanta Flash probably has earned a right to be called mid-tier, but they don't stand a chance here. With a tough early schedule, the Flash are just looking to keep their morale up so they can win some very winnable games later in the season. Don't be surprised to see this team win about 6 games. This won't be one of them.
Jackalopes 66 Flash 10
GOTW 3*Winnipeg Falcons 3-1 @ North Pole Yetis 2-2
Definitely two solid teams that really aren't ready to compete with the conferences elite teams. Both of these teams are good chances to make the playoffs, but a win here would cement that for either team. On paper, these teams look nearly identical. The Falcons throw the ball very well though the Yetis weakness might be stopping the run. Conversely, the Yetis have a very balanced offense that will be tough for the Falcons to totally shut down. I expect this to be one of the most competitive games of the day with the Falcons coming out of it with a victory.
Falcons 34 Yetis 23
Thunder Bay Huskies 1-3 @ Winnipeg Wolverines 2-2
The Wolverines have held their own in their two losses though they haven't faced any of the Conference elites yet. Both of these teams have faint playoff hopes, but losing here would all but crush them even though it's still early. The Wolverines have been more impressive so far and I think they'll take this one.
Wolverines 31 Huskies 14
Toronto Fightin' Loons 1-3 @ Bort's Wrath 1-3
Two very similar teams though the Loons score the slightly better overall rating, the Wrath have the superior defense and have prevented being blown out against some very good teams. The Loons are respectable, but I think the Wrath will take this one.
Wrath 24 Loons 20
SouthPark Cows 0-4 @ Alberta Vampires 0-4
The Cows 21 game losing streak WILL come to an end here. But they shouldn't be too proud of this win. They handily lost to a Bort's Wrath team that they should have competed with. They have no HB or QB, which are the two easiest positions to recruit by far. They seem to be more concerned about maximizing XP gains than winning games. Because of that, this will probably be their only win and they'll be in BBB next season with the Vampires.
