Okay, I'm putting up the Power Rankings again this season. I'll try to update them after each week of games, and put the results at:

For anyone new, the rankings are purely statistical. Obviously, at this point, the data set is pretty narrow so the rankings don't mean much. They should start to more accurately reflect the teams with each additional "week."

GAMES OF THE WEEK

Western Conference
Saskatoon Spitfires vs. New Jersey Hood - The Hood look to rebound from the week 1 loss to the Bloodhounds, and move up the standings and the power rankings. The Spitfires look to remain unbeaten in regular season play. Other games to watch include: Hill City vs. Thunder Bay and Moose Jaw vs. West Coast.

Eastern Conference
Lumberjack City Yaks vs. Canadian Bacon - The Yaks look capitalize on the emotional win the Bacon had over the Phantoms, and to put history behind them and finally get a win over the Bacon. The Bacon, meanwhile, hope to remain undefeated for yet another tough matchup next week with Sherbrook. Other games to watch include Aspermont vs. Bronx City and Sherbrook vs. Willow Creek.

Lumberjack City Yaks vs. Canadian Bacon


They'll look like a pulled pork burrito by the time we get done wit 'em.

The Bo's will take out some frustration. Child Support is in jail for failure to pay. We will see if he can get out in time to show up.

Excellent! Glad this is back and just as good as ever!

I'll be bringing back the projector as well once we get a few weeks in to actually have some reliable data.

UPCOMING GAMES OF THE WEEK (Sorry, I don't have much time today to do a full write-up).

Western Conference
AU vs. New Jersey - The Hood have taken a beating in the last two games, to surprisingly not have a win going into the third week of the season. My only explanation is that they are hoping to get that lucky #7 seed for the post season. The Tigers got some redemption for their opening week loss by thumping the lowly Curlers last week. Either way, both teams could use this game to show they are back in contention for the league title.
Thunder Bay vs. Victoria - Simply put, I know how good Thunder Bay is, but I don't yet know what to expect from Victoria. After meeting the Bloodhounds in Week 3, I should start to get a sense of what to expect from the Crush.

Eastern Conference
Concordia vs. Willow Creek - Much like the Victoria game, I know what to expect from the Phantoms as they should again be in the running for the top spot in the East. The Tornados are is a big question mark for me. If the Tornados win, or even lose in a hard fought battle, I could see them as one of the East's elite. With a blowout loss, I'll chalk up their recent wins to simply playing the inferior Ghost Ridahz and Valiants.
Lumberjack City vs. Paradise - Child Support, Jiddy, and the Bo's are riding high after the Yak's frying of the Bacon, and the Cheeseburgers should also be in high spirits after terrorizing the Terror. Each team has a victory in their two previous meetings, so look for another close game here.

Snoozer Game of the Week
Fort Myers vs. Toronto - The only plotline I could find is that both teams may be battling to avoid relegation (although both could benefit from being relegated). In the end, it may be a close game, but I find myself asking why anyone would willingly watch two bad teams play bad football, when much better games are available (see above).

Lumberjack City vs. Paradise - Child Support, Jiddy, and the Bo's are riding high after the Yak's frying of the Bacon, and the Cheeseburgers should also be in high spirits after terrorizing the Terror. Each team has a victory in their two previous meetings, so look for another close game here.
