Okay, I'm putting up the Power Rankings again this season. I'll try to update them after each week of games, and put the results at:

For anyone new, the rankings are purely statistical. Obviously, at this point, the data set is pretty narrow so the rankings don't mean much. They should start to more accurately reflect the teams with each additional "week."

GAMES OF THE WEEK:

Western Conference
B.K. Thunderbirds vs. Québec City Dirtbags - This is only game in the West featuring two undefeated teams, so I guess it has to be the game of the week.

Eastern Conference
Hamilton Lightning vs. Lancaster Hustlas - Likewise, this is the only game in the East featuring undefeated teams, so I'll give them the nod as well. Another game to watch may be the Lincoln vs. Halifax game

Expect the Laval Lumberjacks to rise up the rankings in a big way!

That first loss was a fluke, possibly caused by the Dirtbags video-taping our pregame walk-through in order to steal our play signals.

The sad part is, you could almost take a gutted team to the playoffs in the East

UPCOMING GAMES OF THE WEEK (Sorry the write-up is short, I don't have much time today)

Western Conference
Listowel vs. Tradewest - The Caret Kodiaks are the best opponent faced by either the Huskies or the Battletoads at this point in the season, so neither has really met much of a challenge. That changes this week, when we get to see which team is the front-runner for the top spot in the West. Runner-up game: Québec City vs. Westwood

Eastern Conference
Halifax vs. Niagara - In another battle of unbeatens, one team (save a tie occurs) will drop a step backward in the chase for the title of regular season champ. The only comparison I can draw at this point is from a common opponent as both have played, and beaten, the Lincoln Lucky. In those contests, the advantage would seem to go to Niagara based on winning with a higher point differential, but Notre Dame clearly seemed the more dominant team in terms of the yards they put up on the Lucky. I don't know what it means, but it should be a game to watch.

Snoozer of the Week
Antioch vs. Miami Mini-Perfection - Miami is averaging more than 160 points allowed per game, while Antioch is averaging more than 70 points scored a game. Somehow, Antioch may even put this game out of reach by the time the coin flip is over. Unless you like merciless blowouts, don't watch. Maybe if Antioch puts its Defense in for Offense, and vice versa, they could at least make it interesting.

Niagara vs Lincoln Lucky was payback for knocking us out of the playoffs last year. The yardage doesn't mean a thing, it was part of our game plan for that game.

Not to mention we hadn't boosted then

Listowel and Tradewest will be a classic. Two old rivals strapping it up for the division lead!

Not that we're unbeaten, but I think the Laval vs. Saskatchewan game will be a good one. It usually is, but they've always had our number. Best of luck Laval, but don't take offense that I hope you lose

Looking forward to playing the Wolf Pack. Going to be a great game. Always is. Best of luck this game but just enough to keep it close. I would not want you to beat us .
