Okay, I'm putting up the Power Rankings again. I'll try to update them after each week of games, and put the results at:

For anyone new, the rankings are purely statistical. Obviously, at this point, the data set is pretty narrow so the rankings don't mean much. They should start to more accurately reflect the teams with each additional "week."

Games of the Week
Alpha Conference
- Dublin Anarchists at Hattgenstein Volunteers. If I'm not mistaken, this is only one of two games in Alpha that feature two undefeated teams, and the Knights vs. Enzos game isn't probably expected to be a close one. Also, the Vols look to exact revenge on the Anarchists for the loss last season which spoiled their perfect 16-0 regular season.

Zeta Conference
- Mannheim Jaguars at Eastwick Savages. This is the only game in Zeta between two undefeated teams, so it's by default the game of the week. Another game to watch could be the Polk High vs. Tilburg matchup.

Cool I hope you keep this up all year.

Just to let everyone know Rome and the Vols will be taking those top spots so enjoy them while you can. Actually now that I think of it the #2 seed in alpha has made the title game the last 2 seasons so the Stallions can keep it.

We are all active just some more than others. It's always good to se the ratings and listen to Jay bang on about how good he is, and then even funnier when the Vols get beat. We all love you Jay!!!!!

We are good. I believe we were the best team last season. How the hell GG beat us blows my mind. look what we did to the Armada and the Anarchists. They are both top 5 teams. Wait and see what we do to BC! And then watch us lose to someone in the playoffs and me lose my flipping mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I know that Jay and the #1 seed is a curse I'm sure of it.

Maybe we should lose a few and take the 2nd or 3rd seed.

Naaa, lets just run it up on everyone from here on out.

FYI, Rankings are updated to reflect the rankings in Week 2. Although the results look biased, I assure you the Vol's ascent is due entirely to the quality of opponents they have played, and not to any monkey (not monkeeh) business behind the scenes.

UPCOMING GAMES OF THE WEEK

Alpha Conference
Black Country vs. Italian. - Jay may reprimand me for choosing the same game as he did as the Alpha game of the week (since I complained last time), but what other game am I really expected to choose? The MC Airs vs. the Car-Bombers in a game to see which bad team is less bad? In the real game of the week, both teams finally get a chance to play a non-creampuff and we should get an early indication of whether it will be the Stallions or the Knights in the fight for second place (insert plug for the Vols here).

Zeta Conference
Denmark vs. Mannheim - I could have gone with Eastwick vs. Dublin, but I'm more intrigued by this matchup anyway. I keep waiting for the Jaguars to step up and show us they are ready to challenge the Rome/Polk duo for the title, and so far have been left wanting more. I keep forgetting who the Destruction was last season, but they have looked good this year, particularly as they average almost 485 passing yards a game (albeit against unimpressive opponents). My hope is that this game will show me if Denmark and its passing game is for real so I know whether to bother reading any of the shameless self-promotion Denmark has provided in the WEA6 forum.

Snoozer of the Week
Polk High vs. Trojan - Breaking from my strict no-predictions rule, I present for your enjoyment a game where the crowd can leave the game after 5 minutes, with complete confidence that the Panthers have the game well in hand. Unless you are interested to see if: (a) the Magnums can hold the Bundy family to fewer than 150 points; or (b) the Panthers can break Rome's Season 5 scoring record set in Week 2, and score more than 56 points in the first quarter, I'd recommend spending your money and your time elsewhere. The only thing going for the Trojans is that they did hold Rome to just one passing touchdown last week, so maybe that's a good sign (although allowing 20 rushing TDs is most assuredly not).
