Any reason why three bottom feeder teams start out your poll with a point and two playoff teams that are still intact start with none? Your poll just lost it's credibility.

1 point for every victory the opponents you have beaten have (or get thru the season).

-1 point for every loss the opponents you have lost to have (or get thru the season).

Based on the preseaon games only so far.

It takes about 4 or 5 games for the system to start working out.

Seychelles is almost certainly going to beat my Senegal squad today, but since we have no wins it won't be worth any points (yet).
