I used to think he did - he often talks about running sims to test all the nerfs he does, etc - but based on the new advanced item store I'm starting to wonder. So far I've seen a great many of the new items through one means or another and it appears that about 90% are completely useless, with another 10% having the potential to be useful if you sit on them and horde bonus tokens for 2 seasons. What say you guys?

10 players, one equipment token for 8, 3 for 2. One viable high end piece of equipment, +3 Agility +1 Strong Base for a 30DT. Think it's out there but your going to have to burn through a lot of tokens to get what your after.

I'm confused. I thought we could upgrade this stuff...

With 10 bonus tokens you can. Takes awhile

I was hoping it would save money over the normal equipment. The training needs more options. Thus far, I'm a little underwhelmed. :/

These items would be useful if they didnt replace existing ones - as it is it is more useful for new players than existing ones.

Exactly. Instead of the same 'equipment', they should be helmets, shoulder pads, etc..

Eh though I was a little unimpressed with the training updates, I kinda like it. Gives people more opportunities to hurt the growth of their player.

hehehe

yeah

the best thing about them is getting stuff you can't get elsewhere - I had to think long and hard before turning my back on a skill that aid catching low passes, for instance...

still, on average even the ones I'd buy aren't really better than normal equipment - having to choose between them, I pick the advanced ones more for novelty than strategy.

I think once I can upgrade one (depending on what I get for the upgrade) they might be really useful, but spending 25 days of training to get 1 advanced item (plus 1 day for buying the item in the first place) SUCKS - I'm going to do it once just to see what it offers me

I haven't decided if I like 4 bonus tokens/10 days for +1 stat and +5 for 1 game

I think it's useful if you train low stats and then use the +1 on a high stat - otherwise regular training seems to make more sense, in addition to being cheaper, & having the seconday options as well...

It might be worth getting the advanced equipment if anyone knew what +2% to X meant or any other of the details.

Does that mean if I have a 75% chance to catch a ball, that I now have a 77% chance (75 + 2), or a 76.5% chance (1.02 * 75). Does that factor in before penalties like a CB in your face and pass quality, or after penalties? How much of a bonus is +5 catching worth vs +2% catching?

While I don't really have a problem with him hiding the details of the sim, without some transparency there is no way to make a real decision on equipment other than just guessing and pretending you know you are right. And guessing vs. getting a guaranteed +1 skill point isn't worth it in my opinion. Especially since when you get that advanced equipment, you may as well save/waste your bonus tokens on making it better. 10 a season is a little absurd though.

It might be worth it for low level players, but for existing players it is simply too late really. By the time it is as good as the equipment we already have we will be retiring.

you're right, nilhaus - I think advanced equipment is only any good if it offers you something you don't have access to normally

which isn't probably even attractive to most players, but it is to me
