This is, by no means, a comprehensive study.
I just took a glance at current starting rosters and it's looking like we've got 7 or 8 top flight teams from a strickly starting talent standpoint, 3 or 4 mid-level talent teams, and 5 teams that have a LOT of work to do.

Top Tier (In no particular order):
Vinland (just looking at levels they appear to be the class of the group)
Hillsburgh
Manitoba
Calgary Thunder
Saskatchewan Sasquatches
Halifax
Cold Lake
Revelstoke (I might belong closer to the mid-level talent, but I've gotta few higher level guys that make me want to keep me here)

Mid Level:
In San Jose... (these guys could be up a level with just a few upgrades, but 7 starters in the teens is a bit much. Headed in the right direction though)
Saskatchewan Beavers
Toronto
Saskatoon
New Orleans (Needs help at a handful of very important positions, but has some good pieces in place. Could easily slip down if they don't take care of those needs.)

Low Level:
Ottawa
Kelowna
Castlegar (Slow build team? All L4's with the exception of 1 L10 LB at the bottom of the DC)
Calgary Wrestlers

Thoughts?

Levels and builds are good once again, but can the Vikes from Vinland get the right game plan this year?

Can Saskatchewan avenge their heart-breaking playoff loss to the in-province rivals?

After going deep into the playoffs two years in a row, is this finally Manitoba's year.

Can a revamped Cold Lake(albeit with the same agent) regain its early Season 4 form?

Can Halifax repeat its former success even without any offseason acquisitions?

what no comment about Hillbillies Ramius???

What what are we white trash to you!!!

This is gonna be the year we finally skin those hairy varmits!!!

I mean dammit I am beginning to feel like Elmer Fudd hunting a wily wabbit. LOL

I could lose every game in the season and be happy as long as we beat the hairy varmits.

Wow, thanks. I have to say that I think the Smoke should be lower, though. It's been a very rough offseason for us. One of our players volunteered to be a GM, and is really stepping up and making some improvements, though.

Lost a lot in the off-season. Whole defensive line. Pretty much the entire receiving core. Starting halfback. Half the linebackers. Pretty much over half the team, gone. Aside from some great recruits, however few there have been, they're an upgrade to the players we had. And what's great is we start the season by playing all of the hardest teams first.

Thanks!!

I'm glad someone outside the team owner believes the same thing.

I find it hard to believe we are not even considered to be a playoff team.
