Some quick Alpha rankings to herd everybody back to the forums in anticipation of the regular season approaching:
#1 - Chernobyl Disaster. Lost in the Alpha Championship game last season and returns with roster intact, plus a couple of upgrades. Look for them to continue to be competitive and lead the charge for Alpha.
#2 - Krakow Krakodiles. Came on late last season and further improved with some boosting. Looks to have brought on a couple of FAs and are right back in contention for the title this year. I doubt Krakow gets off to as bad of a start in Season 5.
#3 - East Berlin. Key offseason aquisitions have moved an already contending up a bit. They will be much stronger this season.
#4 - The Dark Knights. Last season, the DKs had a good team, but couldn't find consistency. It looks like they've added a couple of players, and are right back to being a good preseason favorite. Perhaps they can clean things up and win games against quality opponents this season.
#5 - Diaper Vipers (?!). That's right. I'm moving the Vipers up to the #5 spot in my power rankings. Lots of offseason work have resulted in a much better team for season 5. They might be like Krakow of last season and start to roll at mid-season.
#6 - Romania Roadhouse Rowdies. Sorry Rybread
. You guys are sort of like the Athens Gods of Alpha. You look to have a couple of levels disadvantage, but will probably win some of those games on planning alone.
#7 - Rotterdam Rampage. Yeah, I should proabably have them higher up the list just out of respect for last season, but I'm a little confused by the roster and money situation. On paper, they don't look better than the teams above them.
#8 - Liverpool Poison. Right back at the #8 spot, where they finished last season and edged in to the playoffs. Lets see how the Poison respond this season.
#9 - MN Warriors. The Warriors seem to have a roster on par with some of the teams that I've ranked 5-8. Another team to watch out for, and could play spoiler (or better) in the coming weeks.
#10 - Nizhny Novgorod Bulldogs. The Bulldogs will need to take the next step this season and get a quality win over a respected opponent. They are fielding a respectable roster, but appear to need a bit more.
#11 - Chernobyl CHUDS. There roster is coming along, and I think they can get a couple more wins this season. They'll need more help than that to drastically improve.
#12 - Minsk Fire. I'll include them here because it looks like they are recruiting to fill the roster and improve it. Right now, they are still lacking some pieces.
#13 - Grodno Pirates. Level advantage or not, I don't see them doing much damage unless they decide to allocate those SPs. At that point, they'd go straight up to the top of the rankings...until then, they are at the bottom.
Red Army, Cheeseheads, and Texas City are all tied for "trying to put together a roster" and unfortunately look like easy victories at this point.

Since when have we worried about a level disadvantage. Levels mean nothing next to good builds.
