Not that threads in the Suggestion area of the Forums actually get read by anyone important either...., but you'd probably stand at least a .05% chance of someone who matters reading it if you post it there.

I remember this topic came up with the introduction of the African teams. Bort spearheaded the task. Ultimately he decided that Asia (I believe it was Asia) would get conference names first since that region had the most input and the most suggestions. I don't see a change yet so I assume it got put on the back burner but I imagine if we seriously want a conference rename, we'll need more support on the main suggestion/idea threads.

we post enough as a conference to make that happen. Can we agree on two names for our conferences?

What about "South Pacific" and "East Asia"

I think we could informally name the conferences, and then see if we can get a sticky at the top of the forum with the names in the title.

I would avoid geographic designations, because the teams are all over the map geographically.

Not that that's ever stopped the NFL.

I think that was part of the trouble last time around. Outback vs reef, kangaroo vs koala (shark also), mainland vs island...there were a few suggestions but they either had geographic designations or just sounded silly to some people.

Dingo and Wallaby...ooo or Kookaburra (definitely) and Emu!

idk just going off the same concept of Africa w/conferences named after animals. Lots of interesting names...see here

My WR sugested that one of the conferences be called the "Steiner" Conference. Of course, he's an egomaniacal bastard ...

Kookaburra is a keeper, that can be Alpha.

Zeta can be the Duck Billed Platupus division.

Sorry since I came up with it I pick Kookaburra for Zeta

I definitely think Dingo should be one of the conference names.
