Trying something a little difference by highlighting exceptional players to make it seem like more of a real football recap, tell me what you guys (and gals) think.
Week Fourteen West Conference Power Rankings
1. Pewntenheimer "Mighty" Pewnts
Took a commanding lead against the LUEshis early in the game and didn't let up even a little bit. Devin Hall and LaDainian Peterson had a field day racking up yards and touchdowns with little effort. Get out of our league already :-/
2. Hammond Bayou Bengals
Stomped on the Crusaders and didn't let them pass the ball at all. Big Eyed Billy enjoyed a 85.3% completion rate while Half Backs Qtip Rodriguez Rodriguez and War Shy put up huge rushing numbers and points while Wide Receivers Joseph Rodgers, gary hanson and Tight End Dogfighters Anonymous moved the ball through the air with ease.
3. Twin City Wildcats
Malakias Trombas murdered the Sidewinders through the air with 477.5 yards and an amazing 86.5% completion rate. The incredible pass game was a team effort with plenty of help from receivers Trevor Ryan, Ian Martin, Gluey Figners, Brandon Moore and tight ends Dwight Sevastapol and Post Flank. The pass was well complimented by the run, with three backs each getting a touchdown and Kevin Ward rushing for 94.5 yards.
4. Tampa Bay Greyhounds
Took control of the game early with a field goal and interception returned for a touchdown by CB Manny Sanchez, his second of the game. Running backs Bishop Thomas and Brandon "Smoke" Durrant helped move the ball since the Tampa pass game was nowhere to be found, except for one late, deep pass.
5. San Diego Bolts
Took control of the Houston game early and didn't let up. QB Dizzy Bizzy had an exceptional game with 2 touchdowns, no interceptions and a 76.5% completion rate. It was an exceptional day for receivers Kenyon Coles and Dre Streeter while running backs Scipio Africanus, Bobby "The Bullet" Crenshaw and Kelain McCallum gave the Bolts an exceptional day running.
6. LUElinks LUEshis
Got destroyed by the Pewnts. Our running game didn't manage to do much, but Barack DaRock did what he could with help from Leto Atreides. Three interceptions really killed us from NPC FortyTwo. No doubt we should have lost this game but it hurts more when the sim makes sure it gets rubbed in your face many times over.
7. Auckland Raiders
Buck McGillicutty had an unimpressive day in the loss against the Greyhounds. 2 interceptions and a 55% completion rate is painful. Add that very little running got done and the loss becomes clear. The receivers split receptions pretty equally the whole game and did manage to move the ball, just not often enough, or far enough.
8. Austin Alcoholics
Slingin Sammy Baugh had a decent game with receiver Dale Gray, but the Austin run game is really where the team shined against the Hangovers. Running backs Earl "GetOutofMyWay" Campbell and Joseph Lawrence both moved the ball down the field and into the end zone to help win the day.
9. Hattiesburg Hangovers
Bama's Mom had a good game, but with the lack of run game against the Alcoholics it wasn't enough. Moving the ball down the field seemed to be an issue most of the game, with two scoreless quarters and no touchdowns until the fourth.
10. Farkistan Squirrels
Solid pass and rush steamrolled the Bombers with 534 net yards. Runnign backs Maldrack Mestophelies and Bogart Dat had incredible rushes while Trey Amigos and Noob Stick got it done through the air.
11. Houston Cougars
Quarterback Tommy Romo had a rough game agaisnt the Bolts not throwing for a single touchdown and only 229 yards. Receiver jeremy sisco was the only other player with a noticeable performance in this painful loss.
12. Texas Bigga Bois
QB The Dog led his team with two touchdowns and HB Tadanian Lomlinson helped move the ball along the ground in the victory over the Lesbians.
13. Laredo Lesbians
QB Julius Williams had a decent game with two touchdowns but only 152 yards thrown. The Laredo running game is where the team shined with HB Magic Benton, HB Miles Kennefig and FB Hed Bussa helping to move.
14. Kingston Sidewinders
HB Gumby Columbo was truly impressive, managing to not only put up yards but a touchdown as well against the Wildcats. Sadly the rest of the team didn't have similar days.
15. Gotham Crusaders
QB James McCoy put a pretty strong showing considering the team he was playing against. Kicker Willie Slaughter managed to put some points on the board in the third but it was a spirit crushing game more the most part.
16. Mudville Bombers
I don't really know what to say, your pass was pretty effective, but you forced the rush, which wasn't. No player had much of a game.
Week Fourteen East Conference Power Rankings
1. The Fighting Farvas
Shot down the last challenger to your conference dominance. Didn't manage to put up any points until the second quarter but keeping Niagara out of the end zone nearly the whole game kept you afloat. QB Jim "Maniac" McMahon has had much better games but HB Marion The "Barbarian" and HB John David Crow managed impressive showings.
2. The Niagra Rapids
QB Joe Goodberry didn't have his best game with 3 interceptions, but he did managed to move the ball down the field into field goal range several times. WR's Wide Open and Chas Gordner had good games but your run was pretty nonexistent.
3. Pittsburgh Steel
I bet your receivers are loving you guys right now. 39.5 passing yards and 675 rushing. Obviously your runners had impressive games, it's kind of hard not to when you're playing a weaker team and that's all you know how to do.
4. New York Grizzlies
QB James Johnson didn't have a very impressive game, but he usually doesn't. Your rushing game was pretty weak but your pass was enough to get you by with great games by WR's Bernhard Kohli and Mitch Hessman. Throw in two interceptions, one returned for a touchdown by CB Lu Fontana and this game is a sealed deal.
5. Beaver City Crabs
Much like the Steel your pass game is nowhere to be found, but your rush is explosive enough for it not to matter. HB's Marshall Marshall, Marshall and Pure Energy more than make up for your 85 passing yards.
6. Tupelo Kings
Somewhat bad game for QB Johnny Black, 272 yards, 2 interceptions and only one touchdown, thankfully his ability to move the ball down field was helped by the running game's ability to punch it into the end zone.
7. Funkis Town Virus
Despite putting it in the end zone twice, QB Ron "Monkeyhouse" Bennington didn't do much with only 108.5 passing yards and your HB Tyshon Howard was impressive, but didn't do enough to upset the strong Kings attack.
8. Chicago Wolves
QB Devan Blackwolf managed to move the ball, putting up 324.5 yards, but was plagued by three interceptions to his 2 touchdowns. Sadly the run game was not enough to pick up the slack and the Grizzlies ran away with the game. WR Ricky Tittles managed to put up 101 receiving yards, but also had three drops. The rest of the passing team had pretty impressive numbers as well.
9. Baton Rouge Bayou Bengals
Before you complain about being ranked below the Wolves that you beat this season, here's my reasoning: Currently, unless you or the Wolves manage an upset in the next two weeks, you're both going to end up 9-7, and the Wolves have put up a lot more points overall than you, and will win a tie-breaker. Against the Cobras QB Master Sardu Tesch had an incredible game with 245 yards, 4 touchdowns and a very impressive 84.6% completion rate. Add in powerful runs by HB's Keiland Williams LSU and Bobby Ewing, and the game is over. All your receivers had a pretty solid game, but AJ Sands and Leon Washington Jr stand out among them.
10. Murfreesboro Taints
Brawlers game, meh. Good game for all your players, congrats.
11. Twin City Cobras
Were beaten pretty soundly by the Bengals and sadly none of your players had a very good game.
12. KingsTalk Angerswords
Both your Quarterbacks had decent games with over 70% completion rates, your running game was nowhere to be found but your Tight End Tone Loco had a great game with 104.5 yards and your WR's Freddie Mitchel and JP Surehands had decent stats as well.
13. Jersey Devils
Why are you guys still the Devils? Seriously, change your name for not only yourselves, but everyone in the league. You beat the gutted Saberkittens, congrats.
14. San Diego Sabercats
Gutted, I'm guessing since your spot in this conference was secured you took your players elsewhere for the rest of the season to get some stats? I don't know but you've been getting beaten down pretty hard.
15. Clemson Game Kickers
Got crushed by the Steel.
16. Thundertown Brawlers
Put up 17 points agaisnt the Taints, HB Michael Rodchester had a pretty good day both rushing and receiver, TE Justin Richards also had a pretty good game.
